Hey all.

I have an '83 base RX-7 that I'm using as a daily driver here in WI. My question is about the rear defroster, all of the elements are intact but it is barely able to defrost my window in the morning. Seems like it just lacks power, as I said all elements seem to work, it's just pitifully under powered.
Any suggestions?

 

Poke one of the brown element bars and see if it's 12 volts....could be that the coiled leads need to be resoldered to the tabs on the hatch glass. The working ones in the '83 I have take about 20 minutes to clear the back hatch window of ice. Just being fogged is a 5 minute ordeal.
