I would definitely recommend upgrading to the holley blue for the holley.
As far as the carb goes it does look like the racing beat style with the vented primary bowl. The only thing I would do with that is ensure it does not have the hollow plastid or brass floats as those can give issues if damaged. You want the black plastic floats. You will also need to ensure proper adjustments nod operation of the needles to prevent flooding.

I think that's what I will end up doing. I found a electric Holley one that I am going to try out. Last time i got to see her, it was at night and I think I saw oil in the coolant overflow tank. Not 100% sure but 95ish.

I'm very good with holleys. I build a very streetable holley for rotaries and offer free help. I hate to hear people complain about holley because they don't know how to build them properly.
Tell me your problem and ill tell you what to do next.
Let's start with
Compression
Ignition set up timing and spark test
As for your fuel pump if its lagging its doing it under hard driving. Just check ur bowls

Fuel cutout
I've also had issues where the engine cuts out at idle. The fuel pump was the source of my problem, I would start with that, or at least test the psi that the one your using is putting out.
Hopefully it's as simple of a solution for you!

So here in Iowa it is five degrees out. I mean that literally. and I can't get her to turn over. She'll start to catch but just keeps on trying to start. I know typically this happens in the cold. any ideas on ways just to start her?
