1983 rx7 no mods. completly stock 48k miles mostly garage kept. coolant steam leaking from exaust manifold from under heat sheild and coming up flexy alum. tube and out air filter intake .never over heats runs real good. from other posts i think i am replacing the intake manifold gasket and o rings ? dosnt leak any fluid just steam. i am third owner. daily driver on short commutes 9miles one way

 

Did you ever get this figured out? A couple of the coolant hoses on the passenger side can get pretty mushy due to the heat from the exhaust manifold. I would look there first.

 

Intake gasket and o rings. While your at it may be a good time to replace all hoses and flush the system. Maybe even do the beehive orings while you have the coolant drained. While apart, take the radiator to a shop for service. It sounds like you have a car worthy of all of this.

And take the long way. Fb's are like Chesapeake Bay retrievers. Fiercely loyal, but requiring regular exercise.
