Exclamation 79' rx7 idling problem

so i just bought my first car yesterday, a 79' Mazda rx7, everything seems to check out but this morning i go to start it and it's having an idling problem, it starts but it sounds like it's bloating up and dieing, but if i keep on the gas it keeps running, i only know so much on rotary engines so any help would be great and much appreciated!

Did you get someone with rotary knowledge to check the car before you bought it?
sounds a bit sus idle issues the next time you start it.

Easy answer is vacuum leak. Check all those little hoses. Loose, cracked, or broken? Replace. Then go from there if problem unresolved.

it was a vacuum leak, thanks guys, and yea i have a mechanic that knows rotary's, and i'm learning myself, and with the vacuum leak, it was unplugged from something on the engine, my friend who knows rotary's said it's not needed to run the car, but i'm curious on what it is, any ideas?

Air pump maybe? I know I have the same issue right now but I just need to replace a hose or two to fix it.
