Is 350hp fast?
in a S5 turbo is 350 Fast? Is it a nice streetable power that still blows away half the cars on the road?
The reason im asking is that im rebuilding my car and i dont know if ill be happy with a hybid turbo at roughly 350 or should i just go all the way to like 450 on a borgwarner? and the fastest car i been in was my rx7 at like 250 so i dont know
Thanks

It will be plenty fast enough for a light weight 1stgen SA/FB.
It will be just ok in the portly FC.
It would be entirely inadequate in my dinosaur 1968 Pontiac Firebird convertible which eclipses the weight on both of those cars.

Fast is relative. In stock form the S5 TII accelerated from 0-60 in about 6.3 seconds, which puts it about even with a 95 BMW 750iL, 68 Chevrolet Corvette 427, or 68 Lamborghini Miura V12.
Cars that accelerate SLOWER:
63 Aston Martin DB5
80 Ferrari 308 GTS
77 Pontiac Trans Am
82 Pontiac Trans Am
55 Porsche 550 Spyder
That means that in good stock condition, you will out-accelerate James Bond, Magnum P.I., Smoky and the Bandit, James Dean, and Knight Rider.
There are various online calculators that you can use to get a basic idea about power vs. acceleration. However, they do not compensate for small details such as a laggy 350hp hybred turbocharged 13B vs. a 350hp NA V8.

350HP in an S5 is pretty fast. Certainly fast enough to get you into serious trouble and enough to make 1st and 2nd gear pretty useless. With a set of decent tires, that puts the car into the 11s in the 1//4 mile. Remember, we're talking about a ~2900 LBs car.

And remember, it's not just about the turbo. You'll need a fuel system to support that power level, standalone, upgraded intercooler, exhaust, clutch, etc. And then you'll find out that you need tires as well. And suspension.

I don't think that will quite cut it. Based on the typical demographics of this forum, he will not pay for professional tuning, which could put the BSFC as high as 0.75-0.80 lbs/hp-hr. Also, he did not specify 350hp at he flywheel or at the tires.

350hp to me would be very fast! and fun! but like alot of people said, its all up to your definition of "fast."
fastest car ive driven was either my dads 2003 ford f150 Harley davidson supercharged edition with 340hp, or an '06 350z that i drove the other day. that car is so much fun!
