OH 2nd gen rx7 ls1 swap????

ok im wanting to do an fc with ls1 in it for drifting.to clear it up now i am a young 20 yr old kid hence probably me wanting to build a drift car.basically i love the rx-7 but i dont want to deal with a rotary engine so much.im very mechanical and am actually a certified yamaha mechanic so i know the idea of this stuff just never built a car before.

hinson supercars i have found has all of the stuff to do it but after i added it up everything they say you "need" is damn near $6000 plus engine and tranny and car chasis.and i have heard it done right but way cheaper.

so if anyone has done this and knows what is needed exactly and knows how much it ran them etc. it would be greatly appreciated.and i hope to not offend anyone with this.i love how the rotarys sound and they def have power i just want more reliability out of the box.i had a trans am ws with the same drivetrain and never had a problem.and i love how the rx7s drive.cant beat them.thanks!

I'm thinking Grannyspeed is where you want to go, but let's see what some folks here can provide as far as info goes.

Everyone who has negative criticism, please go easy...the only reason I'll allow it to remain (..and this is not to say that another mod might delete the stuff...) is because of the mistaken notion the young lad has of those old "unreliable" rotaries...

Here is a source for information that will be very helpful. http://www.v8rx7forum.com/

Almost anything can be done for less $ if you can fabricate OR hang out with those who can fabricate.

Good Luck!

About the only thing you need from Hinson is the mount kit. You can buy everything else you need from a junk yard or ebay, if you're on a budget. Come over to the V8 board and SEARCH around. Check the build threads. DO NOT start a thread like this as we get one about once a week and you'll be flamed untill you run off. Search the build threads and you'll see all the variations that people use as far as using a Corvette driveshaft, Taurus fan, instructions for your own wiring (or members over there that will rework your harness for you, for a fee). Everything is over there, but the members usually aren't willing to answer vague questions like this. There is enough info there to get you started and if you run into a problem, they'll be happy to help.
