CA 2nd Gen Problems with vert top

Just wondering, what kind of shop would I go to in order to have the internal mechanisms of my convertible top worked on? There's an annoying rattle coming from above and behind the passenger seat and a visible broken bolt on the passenger side just behind the window.

Idk where to go. I'd take it to an upholstery shop if it was the convertible material that needed work, but I have no idea where to go for working on the mechanisms of the top.

Any ideas?

I just had my vert top replaced, and it was ridiculous tryin to find someone that knew what they were talkin about when in come to these cars because the tops are kinda different. Point being I had one shop ask me if I wanted to upgrade to the glass back window, DUH factory glass back window, if im not mistaked all rx7's had factory glass back window. So in that being said be careful, call everybody within a 100 mile radius and ask questions, have you ever work on an rx top, if they dont work on convertible tops ask if they know who does, again many many phone calls, and find a reputable convertible top place or mechanic. you may not need a convertible top repair shop.

It's funny that you mention the window. I had to look up and verify that my car had a glass window, as the upholstery guy I've been talking to was thinking he was going to need to get a top kit that included a replacement plastic window.

Funny thing is, I had a glass window in my car all along. But I guess Rx7s are special or something, or maybe it was just that the upholstery guy I was talking to was special.... who knows?

Thanks for the advice littlebit421. :-)

the upholstery guys look in there little book and go by what it says and sometimes those books arent very accurate, I got quotes from $1,400 to 2,200, now thats ridiculous when the top cost 600 from robbins, which is a very good vert. top manufacturer. and thats just the rear section. Now tell me if labor on just the rear section of the top cost between 800 to 1400 dollars, on top of the shop tryin to charge me 800 to 1000 for the top alone. And as far as the glass back window thing be careful because they produce those anymore so you would have to find one used.
