2 way differential ?

Hi everyone,
When I bought the car it already came with a 2-way differential, but weird enough that car was built for grip
As far as I know, isn't 2 way differential supposed to be mainly for drift?
I'm not sure which way to go, as I don't drift at all, I prefer grip much more, should I go back to 1 way, or is 2 way any good for grip ?
Thanks.

I would just drive it and see how it drives.

I auto-xed a friends S14 that had a KAAZ and I would have sworn it was 1.5way, but he said it was 2 way.

That thing was hooked up like it was on rails- not what I was expecting from a 400rhwp RB powered S14 on skinny 255/4017s.

It made me slide and hit a pavement (see my other post) the day I got the car lol
First time driving a 2 way differential car (specially when used to drive an RX8 and a GT-R), I guess experience comes with errors...I'll see how it goes, probably needs to have gentle foot when going out of corner.

because the 2 way locks both wheels in situ which is why it's a popular choice for drifters. If your a grip driver go with a 1.5 way....the smooth control accelerating within and out of a corner is lush... hated my old 2 way, touching the gas with the steering slightly on broke the back end out most times, was a pain on the track. Went to an is giken 1.5 way and on the track it's such a dream, smoother acceleration out of corners, much more predictable handling than the old setup.

you cant go wrong with a OS giken 1.5 way diff, best diff made period. no harsh clunking on the street and consistent dependable performance when pushed at the "track"

Twin plate is a friggin leg workout and a half xD but a very nice track clutch, if it's for a street car don't bother..:took mine out and replaced with an ACT unit. Twin plates don't last long on the street, wear very fast with on off driving in trafffic etc.

as for the diff, I love mine. Friggin amazing and silent too. If you do go OS make sure you use their oil.....read many forums about a noisy diff and all turned out to be they were using different oils that the OS specific one.
