NY 1st gen street port

I have an 85 gs with everything stock then i had the emissions taken out and a holley 650 with racing beat intake manifold put it. But it hesitates and doesnt want to idle at time. But now im thinking of buying a racing beat 465 holley street port and roadrace headers and exhaust street port. Does my motor need to be street ported for that to work? or can i just leave it stock ported and still get a descent output?

no it doesn't need to be street ported to use that carb and exhaust. the 650 is way too much for the stock port engine. if u read on the rb site, the 465 is their recomended carb setup for stock port. some ppl here r actually running that carb on street ported engines.
