I just recently bought an 84 GS with the grannysspeedshop.com chevy v8 conversion. I have always loved my RX from my old highschool days before that damnn tree jumped out the ditch and hit me. LOL Anyway, I am having plenty of fun with my new toy but do have only 1 complaint. now yall know the GS has an open differential, which sux. im not an expert on rearends by any means so I need help. I have looked on EBAY, Craigslist, local junkyards, Americanclassifieds and the net for a GLS or SE rearend that they didnt want my left arm for. NOW for the question, cant I just pull the open diff "guts" out of my rearend and replace it with aftermarket LSD "guts" ? or do i need the actual housing and axles ?

Any info would be greatly appreciated
