TX 1st Gen Headlights Issue

I have an '85 RX7 GS that I think has a problem with the switch for the high beams headlights. For quite a while when you swithced from the low beam to high beam the lights would turn totally of and then high beams would come on after your completely turned the switch to the left of the column. Now the high beams are not coming on at all. I assume it is the switch on the steering column but thought I would ask if this is a common problem on 1st Gen's.

Common issue. Came up with this method for cleaning the contacts a few years back. Short story is, grab a can of electrical contact cleaner, stick the nozzle in there, hose it down.

CO high beam: off

I have been having the same problem: when I turn on the lights...no lights. I pull the lever back, I have lights. But you can't push foreward. The the hi's don't come on. Only when you pull back. I have been wondering if I took it apart are there a lot of little parts that I would possibly loose? So, I think I will try your spray. thanks. Bill.

Just sticking the tube in and hosing it down, working it back and forth for a few minutes, usually takes care of any issues.

For the longest time I had no highbeams with the lever forward, only when pulled back. Drove with a screw shoved in front of the lever to hold it back for high beams.

Working headlights make things soooo much easier! lol
