NY 1990 RX7 Convertible top stuck, won't go up

I put the top down today for a couple of hours just to air the car out. I started the car to put the top up and there is no response. No noise, nothing. Top has always operated perfectly. How can I troubleshoot whether this is the open/close switch (button), conv. top motor or could it possibly be a fuse? Car I'm assuming this has no connection with my faulty OMP / ECU issue in my prior thread.

Thanks in advance.

You for sure have the e-brake engaged?

I've read some threads where the solution was to replace the fuse believe it or not.
It seems the fuses get a touch of corrosion on them and it won't get power.

You can also try "nudging" the roof to see if it can be persuaded to operate.

in my experience just keep trying while troubleshooting. Drive it around a bit like normal, keep trying. I have had this happen to me and thought I was f***ed but one day it started working again. I know its crappy advice but its how it worked for me.

the switch at the ebrake could be bad or not making contact properly, its a possibility since it gets alot of use

Thanks guys. I did try it last night and after a while it worked. It was working consistently going down and intermittently going up but I got it up. I was thinking a possible bad switch in the Ebrake too Iduley. Do you know where that switch is located?
I had a similar issue with my alarm working intermittently. Now it doesn't work at all when I lock the car. Also there is no longer a signal (buzz) when I leave the keys in the ignition and get out of the car. I'm wondering if all of those could be tied to the CPU...if not a fuse.

The alarm system, engine ecu, and top motors are all separate from each other far as i know. Since it randomly started working again, i would suspect bad contacts inside a switch (ebrake, or even the wiper stalk, which is more common to go bad)

No, i don't know where the ebrake switch is located, but, if i would have to take a wild guess, probably hidden underneath the armrest
