1990 NA straight swap in Kansas

Swapping 1990 NA for 1991 NA. While stripping donor car harness it seems like I have to remove the throttle body, vdi and extension manifold as a unit to reach all the harness connections. Haines manual doesn't say so, but the pics show the motor on the hoist withe the plenum removed. FSM on the Cochran site says nothing about plenum removal.

I'd really like to leave the top in place on the donor as it runs great. I don't mind stripping the project motor as it's due for a rebuild anyway, and I'll be careful with the harness on that car during removal. Is there a shortcut to removing the harness on the donor while leaving the air/fuel system in tact?

Thanks,
Dwight
