1987 Rx7 Turbo II clutch problems
Hi all,
I have been having some issues with my clutch recently. Before the snowy weather hit I was moving my car to the garage and when I pushed down the clutch it had no pressure. When I would press it, it would take very long to return to normal position or not return at all. I have just taken it out of the garage after a super busy winter and was wondering what the easiest thing to do to diagnose the problem so I can fix her up.
I have been reading some threads online that day that the clutch master and slave are common parts that go out on these Mazda’s but I am kind of new to this so I just don’t know where to even look to see if these have a leak. I am completely dry on my clutch fluid so I assume there is a leak somewhere.
Any help on direction moving forward to diagnose this issue would be appreciated!

Hydraulics. If your reservoir is empty the slave is leaking more than likely. Replace both the master and slave in a pair.
The slave is located at the top of the transmission bell-housing, under the UIM. You probably won't be able to see it with the UIM on.

What do you suggest for a supplier of these parts? I probably would replace the hose too.

The hose can also leak, so replace the master, slave and rubber line all at once.
To get to the slave cylinder, you need to remove the intercooler and the rear rubber TB coupler.
You'll also want a flare nut wrench when tightening up the hardlines.
edit: I sourced everything through rockauto when I did mine a few months ago.
