13b vs 12a
So i have 83 gsl stock engine. I'm looking for more power reliably. 13b I know is much better at producing power, but there is a money factor. So i'm looking for some opinions on is it worth keeping a 12a and building it for power bridgeport / streetport and turbo or same but with a 13b and some extra $. I'm not looking for insane power just something to put some pep in its step. I'm sure there's been other threads asking but just looking for some opinions.

Lots of people stick with the 12a. It all comes down to your goals, budget, and the parts you can obtain. Any upgrades you plan to do for one motor can easily be done for the other. The 13b has the potential for more power, obviously, but you have a head start with a running 12a. I suggest looking at the 1st Gen builds section to see what others are doing, start figuring out a budget, and determine the best course of action from there.

You’re right. It has been asked. From the 1st Gen FAQs...

Yeah, probably drop right in, in an afternoon..along with the rest of the drivetrain, EFI, wiring etc.
