Not sure what you mean by porting differences. Both engines have different port timing but since you are swapping in the REW, it's just academic to know.

Are you looking at porting options for the REW? Porting templates are available from any of the vendors for the various types of ports.

Hi, thanks for the resonce. I got alittle confused with some info i got. I'm going to keep my front cover so the 13b bolts to my subframe. I was told to use the front plate from my 12a so i thought that had the intake port and was going to cause issues. But its only the front cover that im using, not the front rotor plate.... My bad

You need to use the 12A front cover on the REW. You can't use the plate from the 12A on the REW becuase the o-ring grooves are in the wrong location and a whole load of other stuff won't line up. You'll either need the front engine crossmember from a GSL-SE or you'll need to make your own. You may need to modify the REW oil pan, not sure off hand. That gets the engine physically in the engine bay. Then there's still the rest of the drivetrain and electronics.

using the 12A or the SE front cover is one way of going about it, but you can also mount it using the stock REW mounts if you're up to it.

there are a few threads about mounting REWs in FBs. here is one of my favorites: Z-beater thread. you can also look up the threads by kevinbtz, those are good, too.
