1993 runs rough, idea's?

Looking at buying a 93 twin turbo rx7, I know nothing about them, but am VERY mechanically inclined.. Anyway, any idea's? Supposedly it had a new engine 5+yrs ago, car has 80k on it, it sat for 5yrs and runs rough and starts hard.

Not sure if its worth buying and trying to figure out or just move on?

I appreciate the tips.

Hey, have you checked out the buyers guides on voodoo boxs', and robinettes' website? Look into the FAQ and you'll find them at the top. Things I wish I had checked before I got mine:

- If it had proper ECU. Look up the part numbers for what year & what transmission type. 93 manual should be N3A1 for FED, N3A3 for California. If AC gets cold, if the CEL(Check engine Light) lights up when you put the KEY to ON, and turns off after engine start. I don't think that is in the buyers guides. Wish I had a boost gauge at the time. Call Mazda customer service for some info about the car with the VIN #. The recalls that may have been performed on the car in the past can be found in the various buyers guides.

Good luck!

Leo

Clean plugs is always a good thing to start with when buying any new car. So you know when the plugs were changed.
