TX 12a OPM Throttle Linkage

Hi, all. I have an '82 Gsl w/ a 12a and after modding the carb (mech. seconds.) recently I noticed I had left the rod/shaft that attaches the throttle linkage to the oil metering pump disconnected. I drove a few miles like that, reving to redline a few times I'm sure. What does this linkage rod do? Does it just meter out more oil for larger throttle inputs? Will there still have been enough oil pumped to the carb for my short speed blasts at WOT? I couldn't find much in the FSM's or with search. Thanks.

that rod actuates the metering pump with throttle input. no need to worry with the short time it was disconnected as long as u DID reconnect it.

Thanks, that takes a load off my mind. Yes I did reconnect it but I think I'm just going to remove the OMP and run pre-mix. I think I'd rather simplify my engine and complicate my fuel stops but have a quantum of "peace of mind" at least.
