12a carbed to injected?
I have recently bought an 83 12a, and am looking for cheap conversions and mods. I dont know much about carbs. I am looking to mod over to injection or remove unnecessary items. Having the 12a is nice because no one else keeps them really. So, any mods to increase horsepower and dependability cheap are appreciated.

You're kind of all over with that post.
Do you want to convert to injection? If so, there aren't really any kits. As a generic answer, you'll need to weld injector bungs into the primary runners of the manifold, fabricate a fuel rail, replace the carb with a throttle body (that has a TPS), add water and air temp sensors, then wire in the ECU. Additionally the fuel pump will need to be replaced with an injection pump, a higher pressure FPR used, and a return line plumbed back to the fuel tank. At the same time, installing the 2nd gen CAS and coils will allow you to have a much more modern ignition system.
As for simple mods, see the 1st gen FAQ. Uncork the exhaust, as a first step.

I appreciate the info, sounds out of my price range lol. I would like to add Hp to the 12A but I am on a budget. Many other sites said the carb. that is in there now is great. However, there are some other recommended carbs., but they are super expensive. I will check out the forum though thx.
