100,000 km maintenance
Hello crew,
Im looking to get the 100,000km maintenance done on my 1988 RX7 GX and was hoping to do as much as I can myself.
The shifter needs to be rebuilt because its a little loose.
Can anyone suggest a good rebuild kit?
Also, aside from the breaks, fluids, spark plugs and wires, is there anything else that should be done?
Should the belts be replaced at this point?
If my memory serves me correctly, there is an oil pump that pushes oil from the pan into the cumbustion chamber.
Is there a way to test this to make sure its working properly?
Any thoughts, ideas or directions greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

* ALL fluids, including brake fluid, coolant (bi-annually), gear oil in the transmission and differential and power steering.
* Belts. Follow tensioning guidelines in the Factory Service Manual.
* Clean all factory grounds. Good time to add additional grounds too. Just think of a circle...Battery to engine. Engine to chassis, Chassis to battery.
* Clean your MAF sensor.
* Change plugs and wires one at a time. OEM NGK stuff is almost always best, not what’s on sale at the parts store in cool colors. Use a little anti-seize on the plugs.
* Consider a new O2 sensor.
* Change Fuel filter....maybe some quality fuel system cleaner. Personally I like the BG44k or Techcron stuff.

Here's one source for shifter parts, but there are others.... https://www.atkinsrotary.com/store/?...&including=any
Not as familiar with the FC shifter, but it appears to be much like the FD. If so, it calls for GREASE on the lower bushing and ball-pivot, something it seems that's overlooked often since it sits in a gear oil bath. But it makes a big difference in smoothness IMO. I just use marine or sticky grease.
