The RX-7 uses a very simple EFI system. The single wire sensor generates it's own voltage using a zirconium based element. Heat for the element is supplied by the exhaust stream itself.
Later on, manufacturers went to heated O2 sensors which have their own little heater. Two wires are generally the heater, then two wires lead to the element (instead of grounding it through the body).
