Will it ever be? I have some buttoning up to do, clean up the interior, replace a couple missing pieces like window switches, things like that. And I need to get my gauges to work - I wasn't concerned before since I have the laptop to monitor it. But I won't be keeping that in the car. I need to get it MD inspected (easier said than done if you've seen my exhaust) and get an alignment, and it's on the road.

The tip is part of the muffler as I bought it from Magnaflow. I brought it to the exhaust shop and they installed it with the rest of the system for me.

After I shipped it, about 6 weeks I'd say.

If I didn't have to work those days, and if mine was finished, then I would. I'll probably hit Summit Point before any other tracks once it's ready - I've been there once on my bike and I'm headed back there on Aug 22nd. I haven't got much wheel time and I bought it as a rolling chassis that was partially parted out - I've got to get some miles on it before I trust it not to come apart at speed, and it's not slow so I know it would be pretty painful if anything fell off

Got my window switches and rear divider finally. Now I just have to put the new harness in the driver's door and I should be able to put my windows down

wervgpinerpinergi pvpinwergpbinwrg !@#$!@$%^&$!!!!!!!!

Ok I still don't feel any better. There's no power through the harness to the freakin' window switch so they still don't go down

You ever get tired of working on a 'project car' and wishing it was just a 'car'

I know, but I'm just irritated that something that should have been so simple is now going to be not so much. Today would have been a great weather day to bring the car out

Cool. I'm going to do some schematic searching - I have this sinking feeling that some of the wires that were burned up and missing belonged to the harness that I need... we'll probably be doing some "addition" to the harness that's left
Pick a day for the car, preferably one where you can maneuver your schedule to be over my way before rush hour. Doesn't matter which day it is, but I'd rather do it during the week - I REALLY need a weekend off.

It's a carpet cleaner. And you aren't allowed to borrow anything else until you return the hoist

ok :P I'll be right onnit massah.

I'll be done with the hoist as soon as I can get the engine/tranny/engine bay cleaned up, and the engine/tranny back in the van.

Lol whenever man, I don't need it at the moment. I still got shelves for the garage in my driveway. Hell, I still have shelves for my garage in a friend's driveway too. One of these days the car is coming out of the garage and I can organize in there. I feel like I run a junkyard.

Do you have power to the sunroof or power mirrors? If not it may be similar to the issue I was having. Turned out that the connectors that go under the relay box on the battery cables weren't pressed in firmly and were slighty corroded. Cleaned em up, reconnected tightly and all was back to golden.

Sunroof works fine, mirrors don't work yet either. I'm pretty sure the problem lies in the door harness/body harness connection. That or the wiring inside the body harness.

Took the car on a short cruise tonight. I still have a lot of small issues to take care of (my interior is held on by a hope and a prayer instead of the proper fasteners) but it was a beautiful night to be out driving. I didn't go all that far since who knows what may fall off the car. But I can say there were a few folks surprised to hear the exhaust note this thing puts out. I even made a pass through the local McDonald's where all the kids hang out... you could say the car got some attention

sweet.. the car made it fine otherwise though

anything other than the interior rattling around?

nothing mechanical?

does the rear still clunk?

no wiring issues, and does the speedo work now?

Something in the rear is moving. Not sure what, sounds like a loose strut. I didn't go fast enough to find out the hard way.

The motor and trans seem fine. Need to adjust the clutch out because I've been too lazy to do that.

The only gauge that works is the fuel gauge - and it's reading half so I need to check that; I don't remember using that much gas already. The tach reads anywhere from 3k to 8k and the speedo pretty much reads 110 all the time

Need to shorten and clean up all the wiring on the passenger side so someone could actually sit there, solve the window switch problem, install the fender liners.. hell there's a big list of little stuff.

I also figured out why my gauges don't match - some of them are out of an automatic. I kinda doubt Mazda ever used a "P" designation for it's 5-speed cars

the wiring in the passenger seat actually needs to be lengthened so i can tuck it up and away and mount the LIM in the computer slot

this god damned dakota box is pissing me off ... its off the right wire in the harness, the right dipswitch settings, bah ... who the **** knows... well you'll be able to sell the bitch when you get autometer guages

the tach, yeah i must be a ******* retard or something, i have no clue what's wrong with that either

i'll siddle my fat *** under the car when im over next time and check all the junk in the rear...

i have no clue why i'm so determined to finish this car but i'm like "eh" about mine right now ... but im gonna go ahead and blame it on you

Eventually everything will get figured out, now that I can actually start driving it. I took it to Reisterstown and back last night. Pulls a bit since I haven't done the tie rods and alignment yet, but it rides nice and isn't as stiff in the suspension as I expected. Definitely need to re-cover the transmission gap, tons of heat is rolling through there since it's basically open.

I found out I can hit the rev limiter without being able to go full throttle. Ask the supercharged Mustang that I passed on Ritchie hwy last night

In reality we were in traffic, and I only did it because he tried to "rev on me" first when he passed me at the red light. It was still funny seeing his face when he heard my exhaust though
