I think my ears are still ringing a little and the race gas has finally released its grip on my brain.
Guys,

I missed to see you guys at the tuning sessions. I really want to go this time but my wife won't let me tune my car any more

Could you guys post your numbers after get tuned????

Bacon - Congrads, That's great numbers.

Again another successful tuning session. I had a great time with everyone, sorry if I seemed a bit stressed or passive I was just trying to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible. I'm hoping to get Steve back out in the spring time for another session, and maybe make this a regular scheduled thing.

Sunday Steve could only tune one car, the second car had a water seal that was failing and wouldn't hold it's water temps. After trying a few things nothing was helping and my neighbor was threatening to call the cops because Steve was revving the engine a lot. Other then the problems with Als car everything else was a success.

I was very impressed with everyones numbers on the dyno. Len is nuts as usual and the burnout wasn't bad man I just wanted to hear that baby at full throttle. I think thats the first time that I actually said "light em up" and probably the last haha.
Jio, those were some very impressive numbers your car put down...and it's soooo beautiful

I would guess everyone else was happy with their results, and eventhough Martin couldn't get a full tune in was still happy. Martin made 50 WHP by changing his spark plugs hahaha

Steve the UPS man did a great job as usual and it was a pleasure to have him, looking forward to the next time.

My turn to chime in. . .

It was nice to spend a whole day hangin with the lot. I was very impressed with the tune that Steve gave my car. Its a whole new car, and honestly, its NEVER run this good. So good that I cant get enough of my gas pedal when I drive the car. I'd be down for a tune session in the spring.

I'd like to thank everyone who participated it the CAR v2 dyno day. We really appreciate the good group of enthusiasts who made it happen. Special thanks to Dan and Steve-very good people, pleasure to work with. . . well, except for that strange odor that Dan emits periodically. He calls it his "man smell".

Just f-ing with you Dan, much love.

thanks to everyone for being there since my car wasnt 100% when it got to the shop.

thanks to car v2 for letting us use the tools to fix my car, also for the dyno,

dan, thanks for setting this up,

len, thanks for fixing my car, you're a life saver, ... from fixing my fuel pessure, to having an extra set of plugs for my car. (still gotta pay you for them).

steve, thanks for making sure i came out of the tuning session with a smile on my face, and doin the other extra things to make sure i got taht extra HP.

jio, and jehan... thanks for making sure i got down the turnpike in 1 peice!!!!!!

my car couldnt get over 280hp, and steve looked high and low for a restriction in my system, even went as far as to taking off my exhaust (only a 10hp gain) hehe. then he realized that i possibly have a drivetrain or injector issures. i was losing about 10hp per run. i still left happy, with 331hp at 11lbs.

now to take care of the injector issues, and drivetrain issues.... and hopefully start making more hp by springtime.

I'm glad that everyone is happy with the tune. Just make sure to keep up with your maintenance and your car should be trouble free for a long time. I like to thank Dan for orgainizing this up again. and also the guys (Jay and James at Car V2) for hosting the dyno session. Whenever you guys are ready, I'll go back and get more hp out of your car.

Bacon, you're still nuts!!! if you want anything over 500rwhp, I do feel that you need to change that cast manifold to something better. If you have time, maybe you can do some experiment to see how much back pressure is on the manifold vs. boost pressure. I"m sure that it's pretty high. If you want a good turbo, I think anything over 66mm compressor wheel will get what you need. T04R is probably my number one choice of turbo and GT42 is my second choice.

just for an update..... my high fuel pressure could have caused my injectors to fail. i just got off the phone with marren injectors to get a quote about for cleaning/rebuilding/balancing, and asked him what ill effects can driving with 80psi of fuel do to injectors, and he said.... "well one side effect from that is, your injector can actually shut down. no driving for my car for now although its hard to keep my foot off that gas pedal after that tune!!!

but, as long as steve reassured me that the motor is healthy, im happy.

thanks again steve

LOL I’m surprised that crapola OBX manifold even held up, it was glowing like Christmas tree on fire when you were going through the revs with 0load. So you’re saying to tap it and see how much pressure I get in the manifold? Hmmn this one will be interesting.

T04r really? Not the GR67? Ok now im back to sq1.

I need to send you another pm. Need to see what custom setup Gotham can make for me.

my GR67 turbo runs the T04R turbo...hence 67.... the compressor wheel is 66.7mm. We have made 474rwhp@19.5psi of boost with that turbo kit on our stage 2 engine. We ran out of fuel and decided to stop 550/1600 injectors at 98% duty cycle on race gas.

I think the turbo kit is good to around 550-600rwhp at 25-28psi of boost. maybe I can find someone who has ***** to try it out for us at high boost.

We're also coming out with some other turbo kits but not sure what the market is like at the moment.

Well I have the motor, fuel, and am crazy enough for the job. Just hope the tuner is up for it LOL JK

MMNNN new and experimental……

Just keep in mind Ernie T is going to 32psi on the gt42. even though I even think that is a little silly.

Properly built motor, a lot of fuel, but not as much as you think since its going to be on race gas, guess Ernie will have to chime in on spool.

James, It's sent of the male! I don't care what anyone says it drives the ladies crazy.

Next time Steve comes I'm gonna try to organize some sort of meet, bbq tuning session dyno day orgy thing. Maybe include a cruise along with it if anyone is interested. I know if we go down the back roads Len won't be able to keep up since his car is a top fuel dragster.

I think you guys would rather keep me in the back, If not I wouldn’t want to be held liable for the headaches and retarded children you produce from all the leaded race gas fumes

for those of you present for the session....

here's an update on my car.

i sent my fuel injectors out to be cleaned, and low and behold, the front primary was flowing 3% less than the rear primary, and the front secondary was flowing 4% less than the rear secondary..... now they are all cleaned, they are flowing exactly the same front and rear.

next problem was, the rear leading spark plug wire, the coil boot was filled with green curroded copper **** and the spark plug boot was slightly cracked after i inspected it closely.

last problem was, one of the alternator wires (positive out of the plug) broke off and was grounding itself to the exposed ground wire..... Sparks!!! sparks plus our fuel stopper, a rag under the FPR = fire fire ... hehe nothing was damaged though, only a burnt coupler, couple of burnt silicone hoses, and gooey stuff from the liquid filled pressure gauge that exploded. good thing that not a lot of things can burn from that part of the engine....... although i didnt use it, im glad that i have a fire extinguiser in my car.... so i recommend you guys to get some sort of fire extinguisher.

now i need another tuning..... so Len, wanna go for more boost? lol
