what kinda rules are imposed on the cars? cages/bars etc? i'll drive the FD down, wanted to try out that course since the first time i saw it on the website way back when. wonder if my motorcycle/dirtbike helmet will work, its snell approved.

no catch, i was @ the track last weekend for fall nationals and they we're handing out flyers for this event....1 of the coordinators i spoke to told me they're doing this to generate more interest and racers to the road course. Every cars free and u'll be running in 10min sessions, 10 on then off and so fourth.

 

I'll be there.
Just installed new bushings along with Dtss eliminators on my FC. Was waiting for a good time to test it out.

I am leaving out early tommorrow morning to wait at the gates. The gates open at 9am. They specifically state on their website that only the first 300 cars that is preregistered is getting on the track. Hope to see you guys there! I will be in the loud *** FB!

 

we are leaving at 7am from the tuesday night spot if you guys are interested....a few 8s and me are going together.....the rest of the 8s are leaving way earlier

I'll be tracking a Subaru Legacy... the FB has yet to sell, but no desire to track it tomorrow.

 

No problem I am always forgetting that the wifey has a helmet too. Large helmet too. I guess old age is setting in on me early.

 

If I was more north I would jump on this bandwagon but me and some buddies in a Mazdaspeed 3 and 300ZX will be coming from Maryland. I plan on getting alot of pictures in with the Nikon so hope to see you there.

 

Im here right now and where the hell is the 7club. I see lots of rx8s but only a few 7s. A green fd with black rims, and a base red fc with phone dials.

 

Im in, just to watch though, only 20 miles on the new engine so far. I think my roomate will be taking the supra down too.

 

Still working out the kinks to my car which is why i didnt bring it.

Although i woke up late anyway to even go and watch.

O well.

 

I'm curious how well people drive at a free track day with no instructors.

Im pretty sure there are LOTS of limitations.

The free track day advertisement is just to get people through the door.

Im sure the disappointment is happening right now LOL.

 

One limitation, no passing. Just think of it as a free road course guide lol.

Today is a day for people to get to know the course. You could say that, the speed junkies fliers and stuff for this event is like a huge advertisement for Racewaypark.


The course is fun, I was in 2nd most of the time in my fc. The changes in elevation would scare a noobie, espicially the drop at turn 9. The sudden weight transfer made my tires locked up two times from that turn...
