I barely trust the weather forecast for TODAY, let alone a 10 day forecast. I definitely believe that I should change careers and be a weatherman; you never have to be right. All you do is guess what’s going to happen. And if your wrong no biggie. It’s the weather, you don’t control it. LOL

I had a meeting with the track owner today to wrap things up. There is only one thing I had to clear up that was not previously discussed. The way the event is going to be set-up it will be very hard to get cars from the spectator side(where the show is) to the pit side for racing. With that said, the following choice is yours and only applies if you want to race. If you want to be in the show and race when we get the track at (2-3pmto 6pm) then you have no problems. If you just want to race all day long(11am till 5 or 6 pm) then when you arrive you will have to go to the pit side for the whole day. Ofcourse anyone can walk from side to side during the day.
I think thats about it, weather report looks good, Gates open at 11, show starts at 12. See you all there!!!!

Please pass this info on to anyone who does not frequent any of the forums and plan on attending.

Thank you

Is there anything I should know for the NHRA guidelines that I might not meet? I'm bringing my 86 GXL all stock except exhaust. Any rules I should be worried about in order to get a few runs in?

Khris -- I think payment is only at the gate for this event... it's been a while since I've seen you -- it'll be good to see you there!

***UPDATE***
1.I was informed today that people can not walk from spectator side to pit side while racing is going on. So if you want to race all day you apparently will be stuck on pit side and miss the show. Sorry, this is the track rules, not mine.
2. NO WUSSY BRACKET RACING!!! I am having it set with a "normal" tree .500, and HEADS UP. No need to worry about breaking out. Remember Trophies will be awarded for fastest ET.
3. Remember the rules if you want to race, I know it will be hot, but you need the proper clothing. You can't expect to race in shorts and sandals!!!
4. There is a 5MPH speed limit on all roads on the property and it will be strictly enforced.
5. Concession stands will be open all day long selling food/drinks/snacks
ONE FINAL NOTE>>>>> Every year there are problems with people getting out of hand, I would like to build a good relationship with the owner of the track, making it better for all of us for the future years. So PLEASE, come out and have a good time, just respect the rules of the track.

Thanks again,
Jay

I believe they rent helmets, I am waiting for conformation on that. I will bring a helmet people can use. Everyone pays at the gate. The admission is for car and driver. each passenger is $5

So if we get there at 11am and want to race, we can or can't go check out the other vehicles until 3:30 when racing starts?

I'm a newbie in drag racing, so I am assuming the way it's going to go, after I get thrashed on my first run down the track, I'm done for the day?

Proper clothing = jeans, sneakers, and a short sleeve shirt?

I will try to answer these questions for you DemonicPupil.

If you plan on racing all day then you can't go over to the show till they stop racing.

Since there isn't bracket racing it doesn't matter if you win or lose you are racing for times not to beat the other car.

The clothing you have listed should be good. You just have to have a pair of long pants while racing.

Cool, sounds good, any chance they'd be nice enough to put us next to cars like our own so we don't get spanked so bad during our runs that we leave our car there and take the bus??

Also are the track guys going to be puttying down the sticky **** with the zambonis, I can't launch without getting wheel hop like crazy without that crap?

how much would it be to go with the car and park with everyone, but not be in the "show". i'd like to park next to all the other 7's, but don't really want to spend the money on showing, plus if i won something i wouldn't have the room to take the trophey anyway....

Im pretty sure the track follows NHRA rules.

Meaning if you run 11.4 and slower all you need is a helmet , insurance, registration, and all your windows must be able to go up and lil inspection crap.
