LOL, I agree. Robin and Alex were all stressed out about it. Can you believe Helicoil costs $31????? WTF?? However, I realized the Garden Fresh Pizza from Papa John's is pretty good.
How was your trip Alex?
For Hick's Tire, could I bring the FD up there, and they jack up my car take the wheels off and put tires on them then put them back on the FD? That would actually save me a lot of time, money, and gas without having to drive back and forth since that place is pretty close to your garage.

On a side note, I've ordered anither ligth switch safety relay from Icemark for my current FC as I don't wanna go through the expensive ($$$) process of replacing another switch and lighting harness again. - this mostly for Saavedro benefit so he know what else is in the black car already
Dave, I thought you'd ODed man...
Well I've finally gotten the hitch installed on the Bronco, so I'll finally be able to start getting cars up to work and start tearing into them. I've only just now looked at a couple of rebuild sets, and holy Lord... I may have to starve myself just to get these motors running... Dave I'm gonna start with your car cause my white one needs more than just a rebuild. What kind of Bushings/bearings/crap do you think I'm gonna need besides the coolant seals? I'm not sure I can afford $1400 worth of stuff...

I'd look at replacing the vaccume lines and OMP lines with silicone line
the compression on the motor has always been good (as you may have noticed on a test drive) I would pretty much bet the apex seals are still good and probably the corner seal too but you really won't know till you tear into
hopefully they'll let you keep the engine somewhere at work, i would bet alot of the guys you work with might be interested in seeing the inner workings of a rotary - if for no other reason than just for the novelty of it all
check out Kevin Landers site www.rotaryresurrection.com
and dome some searchs on the second gen forum for rebuild tips
I'll be at S'bx this Friday with my white FC if all goes well this week.

Alex I may be the only one here that knows what the acronym under your name means. I first saw it when reading a bunch of Robert A. Heinlein books, where'd you pick it up from?

It's from The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. Coolest book I've read in a while.
Yeah theirs was the first I looked at, but I'd really like to invest in the Pineapple HD coolant seals... I probably just end up piecing it all together from what I find out that I need...
I'd set it up such that it'll be easy to pull the engine out again, as these kinda things never go perfect the first time
also talk to Zach and Alex as I believ they've pulled a rotary or two apart before

Most of them fail because the iron itself erodes and lets the seal slip out and break. No o-ring is going to seal if the groove it's in disintegrates.
I've heard pineapple make some statements and claims that I find hard to believe...
I'd really recommend the atkins master kit. If you don't replace something and it breaks, you'll be kicking yourself later. Look up the price before you knock it. I've got 25k miles and several years on my FC and that's what I used to rebuild the engine. Last compression check a few thou ago was ~120+ psi. That's with S5 rotor housings and S5 rotors. Of course, that gets pre-mixed which really helps wear and compression.
I appreciate it, but Zach may have more experience than I do with 7's. Unfortunately, my own cars are the only rotaries that ever get work done at Paradise.

Who, That young fellah??? Naw... he couldn't be having a birthday today, he said an OLD person! ;-)
I figured I'd just boost this to over here instead of spamming up that other guy's thread.

FD and Integra, hahaha. I hope to sell the integra and maybe get a cheap shitty as daily beater. Maybe I'll get my uncles shitty Geo Metro, LOL. It's really shitty. It's loud as hell inside of the car, and then whenever you get up to 20mph the whole entire car shakes. Also, It's got a giant nail coming out of the steering column that's to be used as a turn signal switcher on thing. It's AWESOME. I drove it home for him because he doesn't know how to drive stick.
I'll probably end up getting Dave's FC though >=]

Keep dreamin pal...
As far as total cars goes, I've got two that run as well. One of the three 7's and that red 88 honda civic that drives about 180 miles every work day and gets close to 50 MPG... Talk about your crappy daily beater...

I have:
1986 FC GXL: Does not run.
1987 FC Base: Runs fairly well (runs rich most of the time, thinking i may have a leaky injector or something...).
1988 Honda Civic: Runs like a freaking champ.
1990 FC GTU: Runs but has blown coolant seal so I don't drive it.

Hey guys, it's been awhile. I saw two 3rd gens tonight on the way home. Both red, stock and clean. One was parked at chipole on W. Broad st. and the other was coming out of Kroger, also on Broad near Belvidere. There's a possibillity that they were the same ones. Was just wondering if it was someone on the forum.
