Try Batteries Plus on Broad they had several last time I was up there.
Call first though before wasting your time.

I called them a few days ago, they dont have any. I did however, buy 3 used BOSH batteries from autozone. They are the same size as the optima yellow top d51r. So if anyone is needs a battery until they can find a optima pm me. You can have one. Anyway, I used one of those batteries and my car seems to be running fine now. The tires are still nasty, but they should hold up for one more day of driving. I will be there tonight, my name is Matt, I have a black FD. So if you see a black FD that you havent seen there before, its probably me, so please come say hi.

no that would be a loss, I've spent at least 700 bux on it so far
I drove that bitch ALL weekend, it was great
I even had some ricer kid offer to buy it this weekend, when i said no he asked if I was selling anything else, when I said the BMW he seemed interested till I said $3k firm, if you're going to balk at $3k why would you even consider buying an FD?
So as a standing rule anyone ask me about the FD, yeah it's for sale at $20k, $17k for forum members - hopefully that'll quiet everyone down

It's a 1992 325is, first year for the E36 platform, 6cyl motor, 5spd whith a LSD rear, power everything,
The car is in great running condition, the interior is the only downside (needs a new headliner) and the passenger door handle just recently gave up the ghost .
since I bought about 4 years ago I've had put in
new heater core
new radiator
new waterpump
new alternator
new plugs and wires
new ac condensor/pump
new cd player/radio
new guibo
new rear wheel berrings
new shox F & R (new rear shock mounts as well)
I have a new aftermarket steering wheel on a MOMO hub adapter (air bag is removed legally)
brand new set of Bridgestone Potenza R009's
even got a new OEM shift ****
Only reason I'm selling is I can't afford to insure and maintain all 3 cars right now.
I'll be bringin it the this Fridays meet for a little while, I got at least one person who wants to take a look at it.

If you find a local shop to buy the Optima 51R send me a PM I have the Turbo Jeff tray and I am looking for the battery. On a plus note I got my sunroof assembly this past weekend so I should be able to get it installed and bring the FD out to the meet instead of my X-Runner Do any of you know of any place that loan/rent spring compressors around here? I would like to remove the Racing Beat springs on my car and put the stockers back on.

Thanks,
-Shogun

P.S. I checked out Batteries+ on Broad and they have been out of them for a while and said they have no clue when they would get more. Was that the Sears Tire store next to the old mall that you saw some Optimas in?

Sears Tire in the chesterfield town center mall. I'm not sure if they had any of the yellow top 51R's, but I do remember seeing some optimas in there. Give 'em a call and find out.

Good luck

the folk at the Batteries+ can be a bit thick headed, I had to tell them to order the battery I wanted - it took about a week to come in.

I went to Batteries+ again and still no luck there. I went to the Sears tire shop at the old mall on Parham and they didn't have any in stock either. Also tried the auto zone on Broad. I will call Sears out at chesterfield and check it out. If not I will try to order it. According to Batteries+ they are on backorder and they don't know if or when they will get more.

I have 2 bosh batteries that are the same size as the 51R. Ill let you get one, they only cost me $8 a piece, so I am not worried about getting anything for one of them. I bought them to hold me over until I can find a 51R.
