Ricky is gettign nervous guys... we need to help him with a location. i suguested to go to FDR park like last time. there is plenty of parking, feilds, grills to BBQ on, and best of all its free. i personaly am sick of hooters, i dont know about the rest of you.... and you basicly sit with who you caravaned up and dont talk to many other newer people.
my vote:
hooters=OUT
FDR Park=IN
if we want to go out after, thats a different story.

I'm in... and I agree with FDR. If the weather's right, you can't beat it. This time we definately need some BBQ .

Ricky probably is getting a little nervous.. lol Trying organize an event and doesn't have a location. Hooters is nice because no one has to worry about beer, food, collecting money, another thing to be in charge of, etc. So it's nice for that reason but if this thing does get a little bigger with rx8 guys included then I don't know if Hooters will be big enough to seat us all(unless you guys have a Super Hooters?)

I think a BBQ would be a good idea too, however it's all up to the people who are planning. If you guys do go with the BBQ you're going to have to decide how to work the food/drinks. IMO Have one person(or two) in charge of food, donations sent to them and everyone BYOB if you want it.... Probably jumping the gun a little though..

nervous? Hehe. I really want to get guys together, just not fimiliar enough with that area to know all the spots (remember, this is a LANCASTER guy organizing the PHILLY people ), and no one has given a good idea yet.

This FDR park sounds like a great idea. I just need to know if I need to reserve it or not.

As far as the food, we can either have certain groups bring different things, or have everyone donate some $$ to one person to pick up ****. That way everything will arrive at one time and we don't have to worry about having the buns before the burgers. Also, this option will probably be a little cheaper than going to Hooters

i can have all the food across the street at the sports complex so noone has to *bring* it... i can order it and but it in a walk in refer to stay fresh and everyone can pony up a some scratch to pitch in for food cost... (i can see the disaster of this already... Keith, out $200... everone else= eat for free )
FDR does not have to be reserved BTW.

So I take it you just say you want to order for X amount of people? But we need to do it in some way that no one helping to organize this loses any money(Not even Keith ) Is it going to be possible to collect the money first to pay b/f you order?

We seen your message on RX8club.com, welcome!

Our tri-state meeting is actually May 22nd Touring. I agree with Senseny one of our board members that we dont want to conflict our clubs in anyway, since we own the same basic engine. :-)

When you have a chance why dont you check out the site

www.rx8tristateclub.com

Theres always the possibility that we can merge the dates and have a double meet up to get the new club rolling.

What do you think Ricky/Travis?

Well, I'll try and make it for the 23rd meet. I'm going out of the country on the 24th, so it's gonna just be if I have enough time.

I just moved up here to Coatesville, PA. So I will try to come to this meet.

I think I agree with Irish though. I think we should have a double meet instead of Rx-7's on one day and Rx-8's on another. That just doesn't make sense to me.

Can't we all just get along.

Yeah, getting along is always fine with me, I just picked this date before I even thought about the RX8 guys as normally it has been to our advantage to have the meets on Sunday's with everyone's schedule, including mine. I will see what we can organize here in the next few days, so keep checking in.

BTW Keith, that sounds like a great idea. I know there will be some money lost, but maybe we can all paypal you a few bucks. What kind of price would we be looknig at for that? Although......Keith paying for everything while we all eat free doesn't sound bad either

the money is not the issue everyone, its the principle of it. let me drive the park and find a spot that still has a working grill we could use and let everyone know where in the park it is... (its a large park with a few ways to enter for those no familiar)

If we can put these two meets together--great (7's and 8's). But if not, it is no disaster, we should just see if we can coordinate in the future. Someone is going to have to say "lets change our meet to the other date". I don't care, I think I could make either day (with either car). But if no one wants to change their day this time (understandable as things are already being organized on both sides), we should make sure to talk a little the next time.

Keith, if I do go to the meet at FDR, I will pay for food regardless of whether I eat or not. Just like you said, principle.

FDR is Franklin D. Roosevelt Park. Supposedly it sits across from the sports complexes in Philly. I found this site with some directions from different areas on a skater site http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~blathrop/getting.html
This should help give you a better idea. Keith is getting an exact location.

I am currently talking with Wayne from the Tristate RX8 group, and I think we can get our two meets together so the turnout may be fairly large for this one. We are probably bringing from 4-7 RX7s from our area, Keith always brings 5 or 6, and then the ones that are actually in Philly. Throw on top of that RX8s and there are lots of photo opportunities.

Also, hopefully JOSH will ring in on here and bring one of the RXs!

Thanks for clearing that up.

Can't you find a better place than that ?

Not being negitive, but the smell across the bridge
will gag you and it's not the safest place to hang !

How about somewere in Bucks county, Neshaminey
State Park near Steet road and State road.
or Corecreek Park Near langhorne near 413

HotWheel... it's a very nice park, the "smell across the bridge" will NOT gag you, it's very safe (what makes you think otherwise?), and easy to get to. It has good sized parking lots at places, and grills so it seams like an ideal location .
