NJ Non-sequential help please :)

Hello guys,

I have bought non-sequential modified rx-7 few months ago.

have few Q's before I make some mods on it now..

1. Heard PFC doesn't work quiet well with non-sequential set-up.
Is there any recommended aftermarket ecu for non-seq set-up?

2. I have straight stainless steel DP, MP, and Highflow Catback system and its...way too loud. (I'm so stressed out when I see any police...) Installing resonator on MP would be enough? or should I install high flow cat-converter on MP?

3. I'm trying to change cluth.. any recommended maker or specific model?
quiet short on budget tho...have 1k in my hand for clutch..

Any non-sequential experts... help me pls~
Oh and any tips for non-seq would be helpful too!

Thanks guys.

My car has been non-sequential for years.

To answer your questions:

1) FALSE. The PFC works just fine with non-sequential setups, great in fact. However, you cant just go non-sequential and leave the PFC at factory settings. Anytime you make any major modifications to your car that will affect power you need to have your PFC tuned.

2) I just replaced my midpipe last night... I was originally running 3" DP, 3" MP w/ some random weld in resonator, and JIC SS catback (canister type). This was wayyy too loud for my tastes so I decided to try and make it quieter. First I got a muffler style exhaust. I got a Ganador Ti, but a more cost effective solution would be racing beat, Gredy SP, etc. That helped alot, but the car still droned really loud. Then I replaced my midpipe with the RX7Store.com resonated midpipe..... HUGE difference! You would think I still had the stock cat.

3) Do you plan on doing it yourself or having it done at a shop? The labor could run a little expensive for a clutch job. A nice safe choice is ACT street/strip. Clutch is really your preference. I have ACT and I have no complaints.

Thanks JhnRx7.

Now, more problems...
my alternator belt has been worn out so I tried to get a new one.
Why does all stock alternator + waterpump belt way too long for mine?
do they take out any pulleys off when swapping into non-seq?

if anybody knows which size belts I should get, let me know please. Thanks.

you should bring the car to the tuesday meet, theres a bunch of guys, myself included, that can help you with your car, im currently running a pfc with nonsequential twins

any rumors you may have heard about the pfc with nonseq. twins is only partially true

the only issue the twins in general is, once you remove all the cats, they creep boost, you have to get a boost controller to stop it from creeping, but other then that theres actually an option on the commander to change it from seq to non

who set the car up for nonseq? any pics? its hard for anyone to help you without knowing whats been done

as for clutch, it depends on what you want in terms of drivability, ACT makes great products at pretty good prices

im currently running ACT pressure plate 6 puck sprung disc and lightened flywheel

its a bit difficult to get used to, but it has zero issues holding down tons of power
