Non-Sequential user look HERE

I've noticed quite a trend lately, mainly coming from the sequential guys.

How many of you non-sequential guys have boost problems?

What made you go non-sequential?

Which method did you use to do it i.e. full or Rikki Style?

And the most important question
Did you LIKE going non-sequential?

For me, it was the boost creep at the top of 3rd gear that did it. I had a full exhaust, intake, pfc, fmic and I COULD NOT KEEP THE BOOST CREEP DOWN. I decided to go rikki style non-sequential and also add in my 850cc secondary injectors.

Now I have NO BOOST ISSUES...no 10-8-10 pattern(YES, my sequential system worked), straight ~3200 rpms full boost....and LOVE NOT HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT BOOST.

So, let the typing commence!

Okay, so I'm guessing that only me and Rikki have gone non-sequential? ... Or are you guys just afraid to admit it?

I will be going single turbo style pretty soon. Should work out quite well. I'm looking at an HKS T-04E kit. I'm gonna upgrade to 1600cc secondaries with a custom fuel rail pretty soon. I'm aiming for about 425 to 450 RWHP!! Hope that my sights aren't off. Laterz

Well, I am not going the Rikki route, but I am going Non-sequential. I am doing things a little different than the typical full NS by having removed the precontrol bridge and keeping the actuator to create a variable exhaust stream. I am working on a system to get spool up faster, and limit boost affectively. This is really a trial by error, but I have not seen anyone say that it should not be done. I hope it works, if not, it'll be like old times, fast, but not as fast as it could be.

You saw his compression numbers right? outstanding numbers. He has a very well tuned car. I don't. I have a 90K motor in a 128K car and I am doing my best to keep her running strong for the remainder of her time with me. 10 PSI and keeping her cool is all I am aiming at. If it's faster, more kudos for me. :-)

Hell yes I did the full non sequential. I like it. I did it because I could only get 7 psi .

Non seq is sweet. The only thing I don't like is the loudness of it. I guess I'll get used to it though.

Nope, a few days after our Palmdale run I pulled off half the motor and found these...

I was always having boost problems after the transition so I decided to do the poor man's way. I did this back in October. I still had a boost leak after 4500 RPM. Replaced and plugged all the vaccuum lines I no longer needed and solved my boost issues. Was getting full boost by 4200 RPM with main cat still in place and a few exhaust leaks. The wire holding the turbo control door broke one time, causing me to lose boost. Other then that, I've had no problems with it. I just went full non-sequential since I had my engine out. I'll let you guys know how it is when I break in my engine.

The exhaust is a little louder since there is a bit less restriction with the turbo control door removed,

the only thing a turbo control does is let the second turbine see the exhasut so both of them work. i still dotn see how this is a diffrence

Basically the sound your car makes at WOT when the second turbo kicks in...Thats what it will sound like all the time.

I have a high flow cat and get full boost by about 3900-4100 RPM depending on gear and load. I'm still working on tuning the wastegate and **** though

I did the full cutting, match porting, and welding job for two reasons:

(1) My car was stripped and I was missing some parts and didn't feel like figuring it all out ... so I started thinking "Man all of these extra parts are stupid."

(2) I was bored waiting on other parts to arrive that I was missing.

Jspec, I plan on running around 12 to 14 psi off of the T-04E. I have access to 105 octane fuel around here on a daily basis so it's not a problem to get a little higher octane gas. That turbo kit plus all the other mods that are either on the way or in work should put me at my target zone for horsepower. What kind of setup are you looking at running??

60-1 in a .50 compressor...like a t-04s hi-fi. 14 psi with a T-04S and a port should yield nearly 400 rwhp(Wargasm)...but since the T-04E is smaller, I'd shoot for lower...unless you want to boost to 17+psi...

Yo, PM me with details. I'll be going to the turbo shops tomorrow to check on a wastegate for ya.
