hmm if thats all it takes im getting my t2 and fd on that setup.

kevin.
you go to the insection station and they look at your odometer to make sure it works and that you did not go over 3000 miles last year I did 2100 mies

the state regulations have nothing to do with the insurance you carry on your car. Haggerty or grundy may want you to have a garage for there insurance, but to get exempt from emmissions you need to get classic or antique plates. this is in PA or drive less than 5000 miles per year.this is checked by your inspection sticker from the year before.

new jersey requires you to have collectors insurance to get the collector regi voucher...
which translates to... indirect requirement from the state if all the collectors insurance companies requires a garage...

btw... the sticker is huge.. green and hideous..
im assumin non compliance like not havin a garage may void certain coverage... if the insurance company scrutinizes the claim..
like gettin her stolen from havin sit outside overnight id guess...

ok so to re-cover this.

do i need to get collectors insurance BEFORE i call the DMV and get the collectors registration form?

im guessing the steps are:
1) get coll. insurance
2) get coll. registration
3) dont have your odo show over 3k miles a year
4) i can have any type of exhaust i want?

kevin.

1) you dont need that insurance but its cheap for a car that you dont drive all the time
2)you need the coll regi. so you dont have to do inspection anymore
3)correct
4)you can have the loudest exhaust and not get a ticket for it

I got pulled over for my exhaust and tinted windows and the cop could not give me a ticket

the sticker only applies to emissions regulations.. it does not exempt you from everything else...

Clarify #1. Is it mandatory to have the car issured as a collector in order to get the sticker?

jose... it only exempts you from runnin through the safety and emissions testing inspection...
local enforcement discretion on what they can cite you on.. regardless of collector status.. trust me on this one bro..

its mandatory jehan..

we have to stop meetin like this jose...
it is mandatory... this doesnt mean that dmv rep upon registration might fail to check or the local enforcement notice the ins card as a noncollector ins.....
not required to be 20 years old as youve stated also...

from njdmv..

Collector vehicles
To be classified as a "collector vehicle" you need to apply when you register and make sure that the vehicle.....
  • Is insured as a limited use "collector vehicle"

does collectors insurance require you have another vehicle without collector status for regular driving? or can all my cars be collectors?

kevin.
