Need Legal Advice

Long story short I was stupid and got into an accident with a bac of .171. Don't need to hear the whole drunk driving lecture I know it's stupid to do and I'm gonna pay for it. Just wondering if I should get a lawyer. I got charged with a dui and failure to remain stopped at a stop sign. I'm also under 21, and it was a first time offense. Should I look into a lawyer or is there really not much a lawyer will be able to do. and aslo I want to prepare myself so what can I expect as far as a punishment (how much in fines, how long will I lose license- license is from ny and it happened in delaware, don t know if that changes anything). Basically just how fucked am i and should i get a lawyer?

I think you should contact a lawyer that will give you a free consultion, and then you''ll know what to do next.

Not sure if NY will penalize you, perhaps they will because your license is from there. I'm guessing you are a student living in Delaware, therefore your still a NYer. I grew up in western NY and I believe that there is zero tolerance there, in fact I know there is. Question is if the law is still as strict. I believe if you got busted D & D'ing under age you lost your license until you were 21. As for fines, I'd guess you better get ready for them to be in the THOUSANDS. Also definitely some kind of schooling.

You said you got in an accident as well...so plan on your premium doubling or tripling, probably a high chance they will just drop you instead though. Then you'll have to go to some ma and pa shitbag insurance company and pay through the nose.

I am a lawyer and I can tell you there is much a lawyer can do under your circumstance. Best get a free consultation--- However caveat emtor BE VERY CAREFUL SELECTING YOUR LAWYER. As in almost every area of life---get someone who does duis all the time, and is always in the same courtroom where he knows the judge and the judge knows him or her.

A lawyer will not necessarily get you out this, but can do a lot for you. Probably more than you realize (even after they have helped you).

You’re going to be grabbing your ankles soon. Think of a lawyer as the difference between lube and no lube.

Get a lawyer quick. And get one that works in DUI/Traffic law.

.171 holy ****. You were over twice the legal limit FOR SOMEONE OVER 21 in MD under age is something like .02 or .01. Sorry, If was the judge, I'd lay a pretty serious smack down on your ***.
