Good luck. It's tough enough for the BBQ that Roy hosts every year, and he's done that with free admission, free food, free beer, free giveaways and lots of models.

in MD.....you didnt see the thread for the MD BBQ? hell im in jersey and i came....

see the big issues is...nobody wants to travel

MD and under doesnt want to go the the bigger meets in the NJ,NY,PA area and vice versa and the new england people(except CT) never come out of the cave they live in

we had rotor jam in upstate NJ which was supposed to be the east coast verison but as stated above, we got basicly people from NJ NY PA CT and like one or 2 people from else were

people always say they will go but **** always seems to happen, like for example, at rotor jam we were sposed to get peeps from canada, but then they realized that they had better things to do

if people on the east coast werent so damn lazy, we could have one...but we are by far the biggest organized mess ever

We are working on a meet for all rotories. This meet is in Connecticut, if anyone is interested click here for more info.

By the way you are right, it is hard to get people together, especially with other events happening on the same day. We are forunate that our club is growing and we are filling a niche market. Old school cars are coming back and most people love to see these cars in person. So if not many people come to this event (2nd and 3rd Gens, Rx-8's) at least those who do are going to see the old school cars there.

A thread gets stickied at the top of the NE section for about 4 months before the meet every year

Next year will be the 8th year for the Maryland bbq.
The 3rd year was the biggest as far as rotary cars being there. It has always been a bitch to get poeple to show up and I post the even up a good 3 months ahead of time.I added muscle cars to the show just to make it bigger. This year turned out really nice.It started getting more than I could handle though out of my own wallet so I bring in a full trailer that sells the bbq and drinks, and charge 10.00 for entry fee. After the trophys are paid for and the beer the rest of the cash goes to the childhood cancer association.20% of the guys complain about why do you need models and the other 80% just come because of the models so the greater % wins. You can never make evetyone happy thats for sure so I just do the best I can and if its not good enuff sorry.I will be looking for a new location this year as we have outgrown the present location
