Mid Ohio HPDE track day June 10th
I have signed up and sent in my deposit. These are a great group of guys. I have been doing events with them for over 10 years. Jason got it all organized and formal like with a website a few years ago. They need the deposits by this week to reserve the track. Yes it is on a Monday, so you will most likely have to use a vacation day. The rate is very good for Mid Ohio which is an expensive track to rent for a HPDE type event. They have three run groups and the secession's are rotated and last about 20 mins each. Lots of fun, plus you can fulfill your need for speed!
Car need to pass a safety inspection - mostly common sense check list. You should prep the car the weekend before - bleed the brakes and such... You will need a current spec Snell rated helmet (2005 or 2010) or possibly a current rated motor cycle (?) helmet (check the rules) along with long pants and long sleeve shirt - no open toe shoes. Factory 3-pt belts or proper racing 5- or 6-point belts only - no 4-point belts allowed. For any FC convertible owners - please check the rules to see if your car is allowed on track.

Yes many times at a lot of different tracks. It is a group that grew out of going to Gingerman several times each year as well as one big club events each year.
any insight you can provide on how the group is run? Passing rules, instruction, ride along rules, etc?
How long will the day run? Is the track time shared with any other groups? Any idea on how long sessions will be and how many each group should get? Have a prospected number of cars in each group yet?
Sorry for all of the questions, just trying to get an idea of what to expect since I've never heard/run with them before.

Cool! I am getting antsy for spring and warmer weather. I hope we get an early spring like last year, when I had the car out of winter hibernation before St Patrick's day. I need to get the Stance GR+ Pro coil covers installed (hopefully the ride on the street does not go to sh-t), swap in the Miata 1.8L T2 Torsen LSD and go through the coolant system.
With my old car, I had always run in the advanced class. But now with the n/a rotary, no DOT R rubber (yet) and relearning how to drive a "momentum" car on a big track, I decided that the intermediate class might be best. I ran in the advance class at VIR two years ago in this RX7 and spent most of the day pointing folks past.
