Hey guys, Hows everybody doing?
Motor is stilllll not done! ran into some.... complications with the irons..... needless to say, they were junk. I have a friend who luckily had an extra set of race port irons, so we will be building the motor up very soon. With all of these problems, i have decided not to re-use the corner seals i have(which are not very old, but better safe than sorry). Should have the car on coilovers(got tein HA's waiting for me) with a cage in it shortly also.
Still on the look out for a good (rebuildable even) s4 t2 diff. Also i will be needing a good used Haltech or something. If anybody knows of someone selling these things... I would like to purchase them soon!
lets get something going soon as far as a hang out too, i am now single, and cannot race bikes for the year(hurt my back), so i've got plenty of time!

I'm picking up an 87 turbo 2 sunday in NY! should be fun! just needs some loose ends tied up. Ported motor(not sure the specs) . gt40 turbo, and a haltech e6x.(tons of mods, but i dont feel like typing). i will take pictures when i get it. should run after a full days work.

My car is awesome! needs some work, but i should have it on the road for spring. needs some things, but nothing crazy. Turns out the injectors are 650 primary, 1680 secondary. Just need to make sure everything is set before i try starting it. certainly a few little things i want to do before i turn the motor over(sat for about a year).

How's the fd going kevin? loving it?

 

The FD is good. still needs a lot of finishing work. definitely enjoy it every time i take it out.

 

on a side note- i'm going to be at kimballs on 117 in lancaster around 7 tonight (not sure how long i'll stay). if anyones in the area you should swing down. i keep hearing that the cruise night is attracting a lot of nice cars so i figured i'd finally go check it out. Also, Ty-rods is in bolton on sunday and is a must go event for anyone who loves old hot rods.

How bad is she smoking? like just a little when you first start up(normal) or is she a full on chain smoker?
Before ripping her down you should talk to Louis (fc3sfreak415) He may be able to look things over an diagnose with you.

 

It ran with occasional smoke. I fixed the smoking and thought it was fine.

Funny story..... My car was not letting me put gas in it. I drop the tank to find out that the vent tube to the filler neck was not connected. I buttoned everything back up and refilled the tank with gas that was in there, and some more from another container.

The next day my friend shows up and asks me to start the beast. It started smoking like crazy. I was like WTF. So, I got upset and immediately ordered a J-Spec 13BT with manual transmission (inevitable). I started to rip the engine out starter with the radiator,etc.

Then brother-in-law comes down to the garage to mow the lawn. He says,"Did you use all the gas? Did you take all from the small gas container?" I said,"Yes, I'm sorry I used it all. Why do you ask like that?" Come to find out, the supposed gas in that container was a mixture for the ride-on lawnmower. It was 2 cycle synthetic with gas mixed !!

No wonder my car was smoking like crazy again! So I ripped everything apart, ordered an engine/trans, and went crazy, all over that. LOL. Like my friend said,"It was meant to be"
