which one do you need? the only on that's bolted to the irons is the one on the back most iron, and all that is for is the stock coolant gauge... the ECU gets it's temperature from a sender on the back of the water pump housing.

Do a Compression Test. Did it sound like it wanted to start?

whats the cheapest way to do a compression test...I dont really have the necessary tools to do one right now. It dont want to be pessimistic but It didn't sound like it wanted to. I was reading around and I think it just might be carbon locked, im gonna try to see if I can turn the main pulley by hand.

the easiest way to do a compression test is to get any old compression tester and rip the valve out and use it like that. i think arroncake has a write up on it and Teamfc3s has one too

Pull the spark plugs out and listen for the PSCH PSCH PSCH sound of air coming out.

How long has she sat in that garage without being started?

I'm registered in IL so I don't have to worry about emissions. I wouldn't register in MD, there's also a dumb sales tax you'll have to pay.

I got a tester you can use - I can swing by if you want too, if you still live in the same place - gimme a call on my cell.

If the pully wont move, DO NOT FORCE IT.

You can mulch what could otherwise have been rebuilt into a good engine.

Also, there are ways to free "carbon locked" engines (DO NOT DO THE ATF TRICK - it makes your O-rings turn to jelly)

I just got 2 or 3 extensions, and then handed in my plates, and then got new ones and got more extensions...

then in January I went and got historic plates, there is no inspection or emissions testing, but your car has to be 20 years old.

there are 2 more ways to avoid it:

1) get some coilovers and slam your car really really low so it won't fit over the rollers, they'll give you an exemption.

2) just keep going and failing, you can fail as many times as you want.

Slamming you car doesn't work anymore. They are getting rid of the rollers.

Hi,
I'm not a guy, but I am from Maryland!

I need to find some folks who are knowledgeable about the 1988 RX7 SE 2+2 and who live relatively close to home. I'm in Finksburg. Any luck finding anyone?
