skills! ohhhh!

lol, on a more serious note, that's what my corolla started doing when the clutch was about to go/ after my girlfriend drove it around for a week. I've heard if someone who slips the clutch a lot drives a car and then a person that knows how to drive a manual correctly drives it that will happen. the clutch disc gets glazed or something. I'm pretty sure it goes away though.

my corollas engine mounts are also gone I think which made it 10 times worse.

the clutch is perfectly fine any other time than a dead stop. actually what im hearing is thats exactly what it does for the turbo tranny if the flywheel has come loose some. guess i need to get some new flywheel bolts and replace the ones on there.

Sounds like you have one or more of the following:

1) An overheated (blued) flywheel (it has blue "heat spots" from past abuses) (likely)
2) A warped or incorrectly resurfaced flywheel. (Least likely)
3) Your flywheel nuts are backing out or not torqued correctly. (most likely)
4) Oil got on the clutch (meh)
5) Pressure plate is failing (unlikely)

It's easy to check all of that when you do a clutch job.

My Civic has that problem...

If I dump clutch in reverse hard enough, I can hit the intake manifold against the hood.

It's knocked itself outta gear numerous times because the shift bushings and parts inside the transmission are gone too.

Dude, that civic has so many issues, don't fix them, just keep driving it till it stops going, take the tags and catch a cab home.

That's the plan... I just wish something more major will happen...

I've taken to shifting into 1st at 100+ MPH (Without letting the clutch up, duh.) in hopes that I'll melt the input shaft bearing or fragment the clutch disc... No such luck.

Shame too. The engine has 125 PSI on all cylinders and doesn't leak or burn a drop of oil.

That, and I wish fuel were cheaper so I could get it to 300K miles...

If the body were in better shape, I'd try to run it to roll the odometer... Maybe I'll take the odometer and the engine and find another EG body with no drivetrain.

More importantly, how big of a turbo can you put on a baby? What weight oil do you run through one?

This Volvo is about to roll over 300K. I just ordered a wad of parts, but I have to buy some stuff locally. Where did you say you could get that massive discount?

racingbeat

they have either just a downpipe and a resonator, or you can get a header and a resonator.

Re-tap it and pop a new bolt in. Shouldn't be too bad. Untill then you can probably just smack it in with some RTV and a rubber gasket (I've got both if you need it)

did the bolt strip or the oil pan strip? but yeah, retap it and put a nice big bolt in it, or just get a new oil pan. (if it's the pan)
