so your saying that you would pass us instantly since the MVA people who do the undercover testing would be a bit obvious since theyre not us.

in OTHER news, apparently there was a mass baptism of over 600 people in DC yesterday where they were doused with holy water from a firehose sprayed over the crowd. I dont think Jesus ever did that one. he ever take a bucket and just splash it on a crowd to get everyone at once?

I wouldnt instapass anyone.

But I'd certainly be a lot more honest and reasonable then anyone else I've met.

you think putting slotted/crossdrilled rotors and ceramic pads (or even semi-metalic) on my wifes accord is overkill?

ceramic pads: not really
slotted/cross drilled rotors: yes

ceramic pads are "luxury" pads, they last longer and are less harsh on rotors. they don't really have that much of a performance increase.

that being said.... I have Hawk HPSs on the front of my corolla

Actually, the Ceramic pads are MORE harsh on the rotors, especially if you don't heat em up...

Cross drilled VENTED rotors are a gimmick. Cross drilling is best effective on a solid rotor... Even then:
https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-wheels-tires-brakes-archive-112/more-drilled-vs-slotted-rotors-480082/

Slotted or plain should be okay... Leaning more towards plain. Otherwise you'll have every ricer revving at your wife at stoplights.

My mom's Civic has Ceramic Akebono (Mad JDM yo.) pads, brembo rotors, braided stainless steel brake lines, and Valvoline Synthetic DOT4 brake fluid.

She might not use em, but I do.

Then again, she might use em. She's a 60 yr old woman, but she IS still Asian.

I had put akebono ceramic pads on my first supra with stainless lines to get it to pass inspection before tags. brakes showed very little wear when the car finally got towed off for donation.

i just know the brakes on the accord need to be fixed so i was debating on just crappy OEM or get good brakes off the start. i'll prob just OEM them for now to get it running and upgrade them later. I want the ability to lock the wheels in a split second from 120 MPH if i have too, that way i know they'll work at normal speeds.

dont want brakes like my old hatchback where they went gummy when hot. 150 foot rolling stops with the brake peddle all the way in.

On trucks and large SUVs, semi-metallic linings are typically needed to handle higher loads and braking temperatures.

I was working on my tow truck at the farm. I'm going on a road trip with it next week to pick up three cars. It'd be an interesting weekend with no brakes and no power steering.

This begs the question... I own a flatbed tow truck for my own personal use... Does anyone find this weird?

Interestingly, they sold me semi-metallic shoes for it and did not stock ceramics.. Goes to confirm the above article I guess.

Why get pads just to throw em out a little while later? Just get the right stuff the first time. A box of pads isn't expensive.

Used, outta another Spec-7... I have the added bonus of having a logbook and serial/registry number already etched into it. I won't have to go through as stringent of a tech inspection when I start racing.

Apparently the signature rules have changed and I can't edit my sig unless I want it EXTREMELY short.

I've got a set - I'll check to see if that one is in there. If so you could pick it up from me tomorrow (Wed) night in Catonsville (church music rehersal).
