One issue I have with the whole US drifting scene, and it's really personal, is that everyone has a 240. EVERYONE. I understand the why's and how's but I think people need to step out and be more innovative/creative/gut-sy, just like the japanese do, and pick another car to make it really be exciting. Anything RWD will do or if you want to e-brake it the whole time, bring a FWD car. Leave the 240 at home.

At the ripken stadium drift event - the 2 guys that came down from NY. A red 86 and a red FD. One of the people from Drift Fanatix that has a NA FC. Oh and the supercharged miata.

The only other issue I have is - STOP with the flat black paint.

A buddy of mine moved down to texas and met some drifters down there. This one kid wrapped 1/2 is car in bright blue shiney metallic vinyl. It looks just like a bass boat. =P. Definitely will stand out in the crowd. The ONLY item that makes his car have any redeeming value - Work Wheels with a -20 offset. The lip is more than a 12oz soda can. That's hot.

*lol* It's a shame when the FD and the Trueno constantly win the D1, but people still just ride 240s all day long I've personally never liked them at all, just something about the design and look of the car turns me off. I'd want something more - uniqueness (rotary engine, midship engine) or something with a bit of legend behind it (AE86). If I had the money, I'd start pulling in some of those crazy cars that the Japanese drift :p

Taniguchi (sp) used to drive the red and yellow 240 but now they got him in a IS300... and I think 1 of the APC drivers ... I think Drifter X switched from a 240 to a rwd subaru. That's cool.

I remember when D1 only had the Apex'i FD. I think there's ... 3 (or more) now... Apex'i, RE-A's and somebody else. Too bad no one's crazy enough to bring a FC... well at least on the professional teams. The amateur clubs have FCs.

Yeah, I was just about to ask you if you ever heard of a guy who goes by the name of "Drift Samurai".... lol, he's in D1, although a low ranker....

And I promise, that's my last back-to-back post...

Edit: Check this thread
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...6&page=2&pp=15

I tackle ignorant views of drifting (same post I made in here) AND deal with haters of Initial D

Don't Miss It...

not to use a bad example/stereotype but it's like driving around a pickup truck or conversion van with primer gray. flat black is not the in-thing anymore. For the same amount of money at home depot, a bahzillion other colors are also available.

Why not gloss black? or be like Yashio Factory (I think?) and paint it bright pink? Flat black is suppose to be stealthy or something? ... uh huh. Please put some color into it. It lets people know you attempted. Like faln said. half-assed.
