Kart racing produces more drivers due to it style. Its head to head competitive racing. It can be done by people of all ages. Unlike autox where you have to be a certain age, and there is no head to head. As far as skill invloved, each requires its own skill. But to say autox means absolutely nothing is a lack of knowledge for the sport of racing.

When saying you are competitive in a autox really means nothing from my view point. The reason to this is the level off driving, most people are new to autox, or do not have properly setup cars. Now throw in someone with 10-15yrs experience, or someone with Pro solo experience, and your in a whole new league. Hell to say Im competitive in my local autox wouldnt be false. I continue to win DSP, however compared to the long time vets and a local Pro-solo racer Im far from the top. This is where the transition from autox to road track is bridged. Those who greatly excel in autox will in most instances adapt to the road course quickly.

One more factor is seat time, you will get better and better with the amount of seat time. Kart guys=lots of track time vs autox =3-4 min each day.

Money also helps and it is a huge factor.
