RI looking for NE's best driver...

I sick and tired of everytime I meet a person in the car scene how they always lie about how much power their car makes, or how they can drift, or how they have some God given talent and no one can match there skills on the track. I started this thread to call out every driver that thinks they can drive, and I'm not sayin I'm the best driver myself but I would really like to see more driving and less talking. If you want to put your skills to the test check my other thread"spring meet...getting started early" this meet's main purpose is to get to Boston f1 and see who can really hold their own.

I've found that the skills required to be fast in a real car on a road course don't translate well to an indoor kart track. It's like the difference between AutoX and road course. The only way to be really fast at the karts is to spend a lot of time racing karts.

being fastest on a kart track means being a good driver AND WEIGHING 100LBS

in a car you can be fast and fat or atleast normal weight

and

i don't understand what you are trying to do ? organize time trials ?

When you find that best driver your looking for let me know.. Then i'll challege him..

But yeah Vosko has a point. Weight is big in karting. I weigh 190lb and race shifter karts myself. It sucks watching a 150lb kid pass you in a race when you know your a better driver just he accelerates out of corners faster then you do..

Best driver that ever lived right here.

Broke the Westhampton track record during qualifying in the 80cc Comer class when i was 12. My father drove a f-150 to the track while my rival drove a 18 wheeler with spare motors and his own personal mechanic. To bad that track closed years ago along with the westhampton drag strip.
Not really saying im the best driver but its all about practice and learning about what you drive.

And as for "weight" in go-karts, every class in legit go-karting has strict rules. No mods, must be within a total weight limit. All about driver, carb settings, gearing, tire pressure, axle width, tire compound and ect. Anyone can become a great driver in time...and money.

I was racing go-karts to one day move up to formula mazda but as the economy got worse and my father almost losing our house, we just had to stop racing.

yes they do have weight limits...
ICC shifter is usually 375lb. There's nothing you can do when you come in 40~50 over the limit...

Besides run the least fuel possible.....thats about all i can think of. Go-karting= the most fun/ reliable racing you can get involved in.

They're looking for actors for fast and furious 5??

Seriously i dont get the point to this thread.

No one is pretending they're the best driver. Everyone obviously wont call themselves a shitty driver so making a thread like this is childish.

Btw, 1/4 races show fast CARS. Autox and roadcourse shows fast DRIVERS. IMHO.

I had a thread for getting together at the new jersey motorsports track in millville for some Kart action. I would still like to get a group together this spring for a decent setup.

I don't agree with that. Autox is lame and not many fast drivers come from that. Shifter kart is in my opinion where the fast drivers come from. It's also where you see F1 drivers in the off season and where most of the best F1 drivers come from. I'm hoping we could agree that F1 is the where the best drivers are found besides maybe Rally.

BTW This thread is Lame. Delete it..

True but what i was getting at is anything when you're going anywhere besides straight ONLY takes skill.

Im not saying drag racing is easy and anyone can do it but theres a further line of skill when it comes to autox, and an even further further line when it comes to road racing your car.

In general. Most people who are fast at a autox, are pretty quick on the track. This is not the case going from the track to autox. I dont see why people hate autox, I find alot of people who say that are not very good at it Local guys who are track ****** show up to almost every autox during the season.

I see no point in it that's why. Going 30mph around cones is lame. End of story.
Get on a real track with speed and then you'll see fast drivers..

all subjective.. see no point in goin just straight either..
theres certainly more skill required in autox.. as turbo23 stated.. most folks who dismiss the sport have not tried nor are they competitive in it..
