i am in north jersey and was wondering if there is a local Rotary machanic who can come take a look at my 79 .

it will idle but as soon as i touch the gas peddle it dies .. it will run with the choke out but but thats it .. idle just barely stays running (400rpm) .. i am in passaic.

Did you check your fuel filter/fuel pump?

replaced the filter and the fuel pump is making a bit of noise but is still running .. the car will rev with choke out and just dies anywhere under 2k i am thinking it is a cloged jet or something .. would like someone to take a look so i can get it fixed if need be ..

Is the carb oem or holley? If it's oem then u need to do some adjustment on the carb I believe there is 2 screw? Can't remember exactly, also are u still using points on the dizzy? Also If I have the time this saturday I can look at it. Call me at 917-567-3385

car is 100% stock .. so it has the nikki carb on it . it still has the points on the distributor .. i will give you a call on saturday morning to see if you are available .. thanks khris

update .. i was told by a non rotary machanic i know it is more then likley a vacuum problem .. when i cover the air cleaner horn the car does not stop running ... khris i called and left you a message .
