KDR Performance
I brought my FD down on Friday and Dave did a spectacular job tunning the car. He found another 60 horses on the dyno and I was really impressed by the job he did. I highly recommend him.

I dont care what anyone has to say bad .Dave is 1 hell of a good dude and he is about as smart about rotorys as the engineers at mazda .I could not have built the RXZERO without him . He tuned it and it runs awsome !!!! I broke the oil pedestal off on friday night at a race went down to dave he gave me 1 free !!he has donated so much of his time and even money towards my truck I owe him alot .Good to here you got it tuned man bring it over to my place I want to see it
Thats fine that all of you have had positive experiences at KDR, but many people have had very negative experiences also.
No offense rotorsuzuki, but I highly doubt Dave is anywhere near as smart as the mazda engineers. Thats a very bold statement.
I believe peoples experiences at KDR are based on the technician who worked on the car.

If a guy can open a shop in the middle of PA, 2-3 hours away from any large city and still stay in business, he's got to know what he's doing. You will have a few dissatified customers in any business, we just happen to have a few very vocal guys here who had a bad experience with him. There are many guys who walk out of there smiling every week.

and mono4lamar....don't think you are just going to call PFS, take your car down, and get it back in a few weeks. That's exactly why I need this Steve Kan tuning sessionin DE. Ray doesn't work on Saturday, and there is no way I can get there during the week with it being the end of the fiscal year for the Gov't/Army acquisition process. Plan a solid 2-3 mths.

I know it is but I am sick of hearing dave being slammed !As soon as someone comes on here and says something good the very few unsatisfied customers start bitchen .I have seen nothing bad come from dave I have seen first hand how he helps people even for free !!I am a business owner myself for 8 years and my reputations is great but I have some people that talk bad still even when I went far out of my way to make tham happy so It goes to show that its impossible to make everyone happy .this was someones positive experience and now its a slam session .he does a great job at tuning he has tuned my truck and its perfect .Also I have been around alot of respectable rotory engine builders and he is best I have met besides his wife who is AWSOME .as for his tuning well his moto is better to be safe than sorry .he likes to tune things to safe levels not be on the border and with as much money as I have in my motor I would rather it that way so if thats bad I like bad .
i was there when your car was on the dyno........very nice.....sadly once we hooked my car up to the dyno my rear compression was bad..........left the car there to get the rear half rebuilt since the front half is already rebuilt.
This isn't a slam session, this is just people posting their opinions, and so far it seems like mostly positive feedback. Luckily for you you're very close to him and have had good experiences.
Dave is good all everything he does up there, to all the people who had problems, he did have a few bad employees, that did some stupid things, thats gonna happen in any shop with one then one person working, hes got that all fixxed up now too, hes doing most of the work him self and its best that way, its hard to find good employees, dave himself always did my work and it was great, one time i took it there and the one other guy worked on it and messed some stuff up, i brought it to dave and he fixxed it all up, and now that guy is gone, so KDR is trustworthy very! Just deal with Dave, no one else if someones there

Did you miss the post a few months ago where someone had Steve Kan tune his twin sequential FD after Dave, and had to take it back to Dave to get it to run as well as it had before Kan did his thing ? Dave had some problems (especially with employees) in the past, but how many other rotary shops regularly have three to six dozen cars in the que?

I am relaying what I have heard from many people, I couldn't give 2 *****. So please, spare me the God damn excuses.
As for rotary shops with cars in teh que like that? Errrrr...try just about any that are worth a ****.
Damn...he got my girlfirend! Maybe now I can get him my car...LOL
Anyways, Dave helped me out even before I owned a 7. I called him twice asking his opinion on cars that I couldn't fly out and see...and in the end he helped me feel confident about the gem I purchased. He will be getting a call from me soon to install a few toyz!

I have had all four major shops in the area work on my FD at some point over the past six years . All are good shops and many of the "blow them up " stories are bull **** at every shop. Dave really is a decent guy and runs a very fair business.
KDR did fantastic work on my t78 kit and tuned me to 440rwhp at 15psi, not bad ! The fuel system is nasty and anyone in the NE forum thats seen my car in person knows its top quality work.

I have nothing but good things to say about Dave. Unfortunatly I didn't find him until after I wasted a lot of time at RX7 Store. You want cheap parts, buy them from RX7Store, you want good tuning, go to Dave.
He spent hours on my car, and charged less than HALF what Jason @ RX7 Store charges for his guesswork. Well worth the 3 hour trip in the dead of winter with no heat and not being able to boost (new engine).
I wish Sevenspeed was still around, I had the pleasure of meeting one of it's previous owners, very knowledgable guy.
I haven't had any experiences with PFS (although I hear it's expensive).
I'll be having Mr Kan take a look at my car once it's totally done (so there will be no need for a retune), then I'll keep the MAP with the best results.

Good to hear things are going well at KDR.
About 4 years ago I found them very expensive and hard to get ahold of while my car was there. Hope their work has improved and they have sorted through bad employees.

When I went there it was Dave and his receptionist (wife?). I've called before with questions in the middle of a work week, and despite being busy as hell he always calls me back within 24 hours.
Here's a picture of his "to do list":
