Import carlisle
Who all is going to the import carlisle this year in Pennsylvania.
This is gonna be my first year of going to import, I've gone to others but not import. Maybe we could plan some Rx-7 owners metting or something.......
That might be cool, then I can match faces to user names!!
We could rule import carlisle with the roaring sound of wankel rotaries!!!

This is the one I'm talking about. Or would the one you put up, 1wide7, better for rx7 stuff??? It looks like import is just a lot of british cars, is the P&S the one to go to or what?

Import Carlisle never stopped.
There were other import shows (NOPI, HIN-type stuff) that got chased out.
Anyway, I might be there Sunday AM for the Autocross happening on the small track in back along the highway. Last year there were issues with registration, so I can't say for sure.
Also the York Area Mazda Society (YAMS) usually has a good Mazda section. A few RX-7s and plenty of nice Miatas.

I'll ask Henry, he runs it.
Last year it was Saturday: drivers school, Sunday: open autocross.
I really doubt it will be truly "open" at any point because it takes close supervision and coordination to run autocrosses on it. People will kill each other if it's not set up with course workers and the works. So plan to stop by Friday PM and register, that's how it was done last year.

I am planning on being there for Saturday (haven't registered for the show yet though) but it won't be a 7. i didn't look at the link posted, but i'm pretty sure this year is supposed to be showcasing British cars of all types so if you guys are into that sorta thing...
For the import show and P&S they're doing the autoX. While I was on their site I saw somewhere that they're going to be doing it all three days during the import...... I didn't mean literally open but it will be running all three days.....
Its in the second paragraph on this link......... http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/import/details.asp

BTW... I'm Steve, nice to meet you guys, I got a red FD with carbon hood.

Maybe we can meet up and talk a little rotary chat!! I'd like to drive my white 82 but it's 400 miles and I don't know If I'd be able to hear after that long drive!!!
It seems like I reply to this every year.
The Performance and Style Show is May 9-11. http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/pands/index.asp
The Import/Kit/Replicar Nationals Show is May 16-18. http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/import/index.asp
They are two different shows.
Performance and Style Show (May 9-11) is along the lines of a NOPI type show. It is young crowd more interested in raising hell than admiring good cars. Most of the cars were Hondas, not too many Mazdas. I haven't been to this show since it was shut down a few years ago. The people there who were showing their cars were fine. They work hard and spend time and money to get their cars spotless for judging, but it was the burnouts and drag racing on PUBLIC streets and underage drinking that ended the show for a year. It went one year to Penn State and then returned back at Carlisle for the past few years, still with some problems each year.
The Import/Kitcar/Replilcar Nationals show is the next weekend (May 16-18). I'm a member of York Area Mazda Society (yamscarclub.com) and we will have some of our cars on display at this event (mostly Miatas). This is a smaller show and isn't necessarily a judged event like the performance and style show. It's more of an import car meet/swap and some pretty NICE Kitcars (Cobra’s, Lotus7’s, Lombourgini’s, Porsche speedster’s, Superformance) on display and for sale. Also the SCCA is running their driving school and Autocross on the small track at the back of this show. If you come to this show stop by at our tent and say hello or register your car and join us on the display field, open your hood and show off all your work. I’ve been trying to get other RX-7’s to come out for years. Saturday is usually the busiest out of the three days.

Dave,
You are incorrect bro. The series USED to be called Carlisle custom compacts and after the debacle of 2004, WERE chased out by a city ordinance, they then moved to Harrisburg in 05, and were chased out of there, then moved to Penn State in 06. They re-christened it as Import Carlisle last year and circumvented the ordinance that banned "Carlisle Custom Compact" show.
HIN, NOPI, nor any other show were produced at the fairgrounds. Just what Carlisle produces themselves.
How I know, I worked with them on organizing it into a better judged and classed show for the H-burg and future shows. (with the NCCA)
Any new info on this fellas??? My grandpa and uncle are at spring at this very moment. I wish I could be there, but I have other thing I gotta do............. I still hope to be able to go to import.
