Home Brewers in the VA/DC/MD area...
There was a farewell party at my dive bar last night.
They're wrecking it and putting up high rise condos/apartments...
Some of you might like to check it out, as they're auctioning off the entire place...

PRE-AUCTION BIDS ACCEPTED: Stop by Dremo's and give your bid to the manager. Almost everything must go: totem pole, pool tables, 200 gallon stainless steel beer tanks (perfect for homebrewing or a small brewery), kitchen equipment, general restaurant stuff and various odds and ends.

I have nowhere to put it and couldn't really use it anyway but oh the humanity!!!! Hell, even the kitcken cookare would be awesome. ****, ****, ****... it's only 55 miles from my house but the wife and I are both working tomorrow. I wouldn't get home until 10pm at the earliest. I wonder if they will take the kids in trade. So, what are you going to do for a local watering hole now?

That one just had so much... "personality"...
Holes in the cinderblock walls filled with expanding insulating foam... wiring hanging from the ceiling... The A/C and air filtration system looked like a central air handler from a house, just kinda ripped outta the basement and set there in the floor, random ductwork hapahzardly directing the air about the joint...
The pool tables "automatically" put some english on your shots.

The TV's were those video game demo units that you see in Wal*Mart or Blockbuster... A little 13 inch TV in a steel cabinet with two controllers mounted on armored brackets, space for a console in the bottom...
The VIP "booth" that was really the top of a grain silo with a hole for a doorway cut in it.
It was like a public frat party.
I didn't know this was gonna be the grand finale... they've been talking about demolishing the place for a while now, but never end up doing it... I think I've been to four or five "final" events there...
But this was the actual thing.
I have a couple downtown.

that place was awesome, sad to see it go.
I heard about this a day too late or I would have been at the farewell party.
hopefully they will do well with the new location. not sure if it will have the same "personalty" though.
