I signed it. If it's done by Mohegan it should have the financial support to be a real nice one. I also sent you a PM.

Glad to help in the revivel of a dragway in Ct. It's been a long time coming and would be great to have one so close to home. Every car club and non car club members should sign the petiton to help get this on the way. I know I'll bring this up at the next meet and hope everyone else will do the same.

Signed it, I used to live down south about 15 mins from a drag strip and it was always nice to take it there when me and a friend wanted to see who was faster rather than go to a back road...

Well there used to be a track in colchester Ct but they shut it down back in the 70's and now they are thinking about reopening it a redoing it to meet current standards. I have heard rumors though that the track has been being used for state police advanced driving training. (aka cop drifting) So we will see what happens with that.

Thanks every little bit helps. I went for a drive this past saturday night, curious if people were still street racing. I go to one of the local meetup spots and there are cops sitting there. Not so much a good thing because they tend to pull over any import they see around here. So i decided to drive around to the local racing spots. I **** you not there was a line of cars a little over a 1/4 mile long. It was nuts. All I seen was bad coming out of it. Its not like it was just hondas and mazda either. I know there were at least 40 cars with 600+ hp out there. One of which was a first gen rx7. Decided to not stick around because i don't want to be there when 200+ cars try running from the cops. Called a pal later that night to see if anything good happened. Cops came and 4 cars slammed into each other trying to run. Something needs to happen quick. Like i know what it feels like to have a built car and want to race but there are just someplace where you shouldn't be racing. I feel like if we run into each other on the road and catch a light then ok go for it but when you have that many people around something bad is bound to happen.

We need this track...........

i signed the petition. Hope it helps. I dont know how the street racing is in ct, but in the city theres plenty ofopen areas late at night, and empty highways you can get away with it without putting everyone at risk (except those attending the events, but which you attend on your own accord)

Hope this happens, will be good to have more strips in the tristate area.
