Damn. I hate when my kids have to have surgery(like last week). No matter the surgery, it's still scary. I hope you and your family are well.

Cameron, I hate to see the autocross population of the first gens go down by 1. :-( Since Jimmy has his for sale (or has sold, whichever) and Bryan is busy with road racing cars. Carl is going to be comming out more regularly and I always try to be ther more often. :-/

Anyway, good luck with the sale of the car.

well we tore down my buddy's FD today, and the front rotor and housing are screwed. The rotor gear ate the stationairy gear to crap, so he needs a new crank, rotor, housing, front plate, front stationairy gear, and oil pump. not a good day for him. kinda dissapointed in atkins on this build. only lasted 65k.

Got my heater core back from the shop today and good news, no leaks. Time to stop this oil leak for good. Only cost $35 bucks, not too bad IMHO.

BTW, what weight oil is everyone using? I think I'm going to 20-50 Royal Purple this time around since oil pressure is a tad lower than I like.

eww im not to sure about your oil choice man. ive read some bad things about that. like the synthetic burning, and leaving behind a plastic like residue. if only we had a way of running the oil injectors with a non synthetic oil, and then a synthetic for the e shaft supply. then i think that would work great. basically its like using synthetic oil in a two stroke, which is a bad idea.

Huge matter of opinions here. There is a big FAQ list on the royal purple site that addresses the use of RP and rotaries. They recommend it, and apparently one of the principles and engineers of their company is a well known rotorhead. I forget his name, but some of the DC rotary gang know him well and trust his opinions.

Here is the link to their FAQ about rotaries:

http://www.royalpurple.com/techa/faqsa.html#re0

It is worth reading.

Wish I could help man, but I'll be in Chicago this weekend. Check your ignition, if you lost your leading ignition it will run quite shitty. Make sure you've got adequate fuel pressure too.

What were you doing when this happened?
