Everywhere i take it says they will fail me because of a stupid light bulb won't turn off! WTF?!? Everyone says will have to hook it up to a computer blah blah blah give me money is all I'm hearing from these guys. I know the car is 100% safe and there is nothing wrong with my seatbelts except for the light. I did talk to one guy who suggested pulling the light bulb out but that sounds like a lot of work cause wouldn't i need to pull the whole dash to get the the bulb. I use this car as a daily driver and don't have the time to pull my dash out cause i work everyday.

Any suggestions or a place that will over look this (in my opinion) non issue?
best thing to do is to not remove the bulb , they will check to see if it comes on on pre startup. check to see if the sensor is getting a good ground signal.. at the base of the belt buckle you might need to move the carpet flap out of the way to get to the plug. see if you can source a wiring diagram . unless you can get ALLDATA on your pc. you could try to see if the light will go out if you try bridging the connections with a paper clip. i did that with my first gen . chances are you might need to replace the buckle sensor . easyer way is pay for the diag fee at your local shop and see what they have to say about what is wrong if your not to sure on how to tackle the problem and go from there. good luck.

Fingers crossed, but I may be back on the road soon. Looks like all the smoke I was getting was from old fuel with old Stabil. Drained the tank and put in fresh fuel and the smoke is gone. She's holdin' her coolant and temps are stable. Just need to reset the PFC, let it learn idle, brakes, inspection and new tags left to go.

I need some FB part too! Need some parts from the underside of the car. Need a few parts that connect to the front fenders (don't know what they are called) and also the exhaust shield between the gas tank and the muffler. Need some nuts/bolts/connecters as well.

Hey guys long time!

Still trying to sell the 88 FC, somethings up with the motor so 750 OBO for rolling chassis complete interior plus a few aftermarket parts

and Im mulling over selling the FB Id like to get 2000 for it and I feel thats a fair price for a vehicle that just needs a bit of fuel mapping.

money made from these will be funneled into our 3rd gen that will be coming up in the lineup of projects soon.

Introducing myself

Hey everybody,

Woodmv here. I'm relatively new to the forum and just got my hands on my very own 79 earlier this month. It was my father's, and my brother's before that. I have a build thread going on it if you want to check it out - it's titled "My 79 "barn find" project" and is on the 1st gen build thread section. check it out.

I got it fired up this weekend and it's the first time in three years it's been run. Hasn't been driven in about 9 years but it's getting close.

Anyway, looking to reach out to other "7" owners in the area in case I need to ask a question or two, and I will have to as I go, and wanted to introduce myself.

Take care!
Woodmv

Congrats on the 79. I've had quite a few of them. By your VIN # you have an early model with the hood prop that should be on the passenger side. There isn't really anything on the a 79 model that I don't know about. If you want to upgrade it, let me know. By the time I finished my yellow 79 it was a real bad *** car.....

I just PCS'd to Langley today and was wondering if there's anything going on around here? My FD just endured a 475 mile trek after 4 years of being in storage and she took it pretty well. Now to get a house with a garage so I can get to wrenching on it again!

Well if you want to live in Hampton, I am selling my house with two garages and it's very RX-7 friendly.

I would like to live around here, but I'm not planning on staying for the long haul. Nothing against VA (or anywhere in the US for that matter) but I plan on getting back overseas ASAP. That said, looking more for a place to rent, preferably with a garage.

In other news, went out Friday night to Newport News to see what the kids were up to out there. I heard they gather at Home Depot there, so I went to check it out with a buddy I just met in his RX8. We were the only rotaries, but one of the guys there has an FC Vert that's undergoing a T2 swap.

Anything else happening in the area?
