I thought I'd try the recharge with a stop leak and see how that works. BTW, you going on the poker run tomorrow?

The whole recharge kit is available from places like Advance auto for about $30. The guages and stuff to do it costs about $100 for the good ones, and the vac pump is something like $25 from ebay. With that the job takes maybe 1/2 hour (since your R12 is gone you don't have to worry about depleating the ozone layer anymore than you already have :-). I have the guages and the pump... and I don't like to lend out tools, but I will make an exception in your case..... The instructions are on the box for doing it. It is really easy and very cook-book. Really nothing I would pay someone $250 for..... Ever!!!!!! It is price gouging far worse than anone has ever accused Exxon of.

Granted the new equipment to suck out the R12 is sorta expensive, unjustifiably so....

I re-read what you wrote. I think you should empty the system and go ahead and change the o-rings and stuff. The kit of new ones is only a few dollars and chances are that is where your leak is, unless it is in the compessor itself.... But then it is a good thing you learned how to fill the system yourself. Then you can buy the parts, turn a few wrenches and save yourself another $250.

No poker run for me. It's 5:20AM and I'm at work. Been here for about 20 mins now. Doesn't look like I'll get outta here before 4PM. Wish I didn't have to rinse and repeat this for the next 6 days. It's too damn early for this lol.

Is this the Mongolian BBQ place you guys suggested for the RX7 meet?

Ming Garden Resturant
15435 Warwick Blvd
Newport News, VA 23608

(757) 988-1688

If so, someone let me know, so I can list it.

The one I suggested is in Hampton, but if you've seen one Mongol place, you've seen them all.

They have good food, but I think the parking lot is a bit small. If we went to the Riverdale Plaza, they have acres and acres of parking lot.... You know, the place across the street from where you work.

Ok If you guys don't get me a name and/or address I have an address for Rvierdale plaza and I am going to list it as the Mongolian place on Riverdale Plaza. I have been the the Szechuan Inn and I am sorta with Yoshi that the parking lot is sorta small, it is also not Molgolian BBQ, which I am strangely very much in the mood for. So.....

When you're comming from 64, it's just past Hooters in the Riverdale Shopping center. Take the left at the stoplight just past Hooters. After you drive into the shopping center, the BBQ is on the far left hand side not far from the ABC store.

Suprisingly there almost no info about the place on the web. The one ciysearch site that I found it on, get it an 8.4 rating......

This is what I spent my weekend doing, it looks like I will never be able to make a meeting but my spirit will be with you guys....

Consequences of not having a pilot bearing removal tool. I will invest in one of them, the chisel and screwdriver thing took Elliot and myself quite a few hours to remove.

Engine from pic and pull

Prepping the bay, pull old engine out.

About ready to drop in.

New engine installed

Hopefully we can get the finishing touches today and crank it up. Cross your fingers, as soon as it's done the 91 vert will be up for sale.

I know of several RX7's in junk yards. Most have bad engines or no engines though.
