Naw...the guy said that it was stock, but it rubs on the front of the inner fenderwells on full lock...not when the suspension is cycled (thats when it rubs on the top of the fender- the metal part...) the ride is stiffer than the other FD that I've ridden in and the springs are red...thats what led me to my assumption that it may be lowered. Are red springs stock?

It is serious fun!!!! No matter how good of a driver you think you are, you will improve dramatically with a year of so worth of autocrossing. If you go on to any other form of racing the experience in autocrossing is going to be invaluable.

It is not as hard to find your way around the course as you might think. There are techniques, and some courses are harder than others, but it is really not that hard. Most people who are serious get there early, and do what they call a "walk through" and learn where the course goes that way.

Is there one in January (an autocross)? I am going to try to trade my rims for a set that doesn't rub by then. So I ought to be able to actually embarrass myself if there's one in January.

just wrecked my car...probably won't be at any autocrosses.
-Ryan

EDIT: and I'm 17 and I don't need any "I told you so"...I'm kickin myself hard enough as it is...and the police are gonna kick harder. I don't guess I was ready to drive a powerful car, but thats why I wanted to get into autocross: so I'd be safer at handling my power...

I was going like 65mph, maybe a little less, into a turn on a back road and I had it in 4th gear, hit the gas coming out of the turn, lost the back end, hit a ditch, flipped twice and landed roof up (thankfully) facing the direction I just came from, in a cotton field. Totalled is what I'm thinking. I'm really just kicking myself. HARD.
I'm fine though, I always wear my seatbelt and thats what saved my *** this morning.
Ryan.

But I got "wreckless driving- failure to maintain control of the vehicle" and a stern lecture about almost getting a "failure to report an accident" ticket. I didn't have a cell phone...was I supposed to walk to the police department??? I sure as heck wasn't driving, and as much as my knees were shaking, I doubt I could've walked a block. And the whole time, I'm thinking "this is my fault, I'm an idiot" over and over...

Ouch, Sorry to hear about it. The car in my avatar is also now basically totaled too. I feel your pain. It will be spring before I have another RX7 to drive, except when my daughter lets me borrow her car.

yeah, engine was just broken in...it has 2K miles on it. It has a three year warranty that started in Oct...It was definitely a learning experience...I learned not to hit the gas, in boost, on an off camber turn, that abrubtly......I'm an idiot. But yeah everything motor wise is fine...the tranny had fifth gear grind though. If I don't rebuild it then I'll probably part it.

It doesn't run, but you shoud still have a good drivetrain for it. Let me know if you're intrested.

I have gotten a new roller (car without engine). It is a brown GSL-SE, that has affectionately already been nicknamed Brownie. It is not as complete or as perfect as I would like, but it will make an adequate home for my drivetrain. It is just going to take more work than I had hoped. With winter (I hate cold) and my other projects it will be at least spring before I get that car running. I like the pics of your blue car (I'm not thrilled about the back window, but I could live with it) I am sure you would want more than I can pay right now.

Anybody want to help me or guide me through removing my drivetrain from my totalled car so I can sell it? I live in Suffolk and have some tools, but probably not all thats necessary...I just don't wanna have to pay for it to be removed when I know I could come close to doing it by myself. Thanks
Ryan.

I should of mentioned that the Fiberglass Hatch is no longer on the car.

Who knows?.... I'm hoping to get $1500 for it. Figure the kit alone is $1200 not counting the never seen before Italian wheels that match the kit. Tires alone (225/50/15 front/ 245/50/15 rear) cost $500 two months before the engine died.

It will probably end up on eBay in a week or so anyway...

You know what would happen if I had my way. By the way everyone. I have a 89-91 engine with 0 miles. Brand spanking new for $1000 OBO. It is automatic but I have the manual flywheel and counterweight if needed.
